Another fine day out with fellow 1457 Society members at Longniddry Golf Club.

Overcast but dry and a steady 20mph westerly made for some testing golf, but plenty of laughs along the way.

Longniddry has a really nice mix of holes, the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and the catering was excellent.

There’s something about golf in black and white.

Stripped of colour, the course becomes all about shape, texture, light and shadow. The sweep of a fairway, the movement of the grasses, the contours of the greens and the sky rolling in off the North Sea.

The mood on the wonderful links of @goswickgolfclub with some of the @1457society couldn’t be dampened despite the weather. The course is in fantastic condition and the first go round with the new Par 3 for me was a great addition. Looking forward to being back soon. As always great to see some old and new faces along.

A true links test at Kilspindie yesterday, with overcast skies and a brisk wind providing plenty of challenge for our latest society outing!

It was fantastic to catch up with both familiar faces and new friends for a great day of golf on Scotland’s Golf Coast. A huge thank you to all the staff at Kilspindie Golf Club for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality throughout the day.

A cracking start to the 1457 Society season at Southerness Golf Club yesterday.

Sunshine, showers, and a biting wind made for a proper test on this classic links overlooking the Solway Firth but that’s exactly how it should be. The course was in excellent condition for so early in the year, and we were looked after superbly with a warm welcome and a great lunch.

Most importantly, it was a fun day spent in great company.

We’re heading to Southerness Golf Club on Friday 27th March for a proper early-season links day with the 1457 Society.

We’ll meet in the clubhouse for lunch and a catch-up, then it’s out for 18 along the Solway Firth. Expect sea air, big views and a course that asks you to think your way round as much as strike it well… Southerness at its best.

As always, it’s a members-only day, so numbers stay small and the vibe stays relaxed and sociable… exactly how we like it.

Founding Members can book at a reduced rate, and if you’re not part of the Society yet, you can join for free as a Community Member and get involved. by @1457society

What a way to bring the 1457 Society season to a close!

Friday at Craigielaw delivered everything you could hope for… glorious sunshine, top-class golf and even better company. A cracking day from start to finish, crowned by a moment to remember as Chris Aitken had a superb hole-in-one at the 10th 👏🎯

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a fantastic finale. Roll on next season!

Yesterday’s 1457 Society outing took us to West Kilbride Golf Club, where we enjoyed a superb day over a fun and beautifully presented links. Despite the lack of sunshine, it was a perfect day for golf - flat calm, with magnificent views across the Firth of Clyde towards Arran. Our thanks to the team at West Kilbride for their warm welcome and excellent service throughout.

A few pics from day two of our Cabot Highlands trip over the Castle Stuart course. A mist hung along the coast all day, but with no wind it was just about perfect for golf. It’s a brilliant modern links on a spectacular strip of coastline and a treat to play!
