👶Baby Book Club👶

Every Friday morning, from 9am-10am, we have a story time for under five years olds.
It's a very relaxed group where we read picture books together and help encourage young ones to engage with reading and stories 📚

It's completely free and you don't need to book. Just come along 😊

✨️Our Young Adult and Kids Book Clubs! ✨️

Due to popular demand, we are updating our YA and kids book clubs by dividing them into four separate groups.
Starting in September, Group A (year 8,9,10) will meet the first Wednesday of the month. Group B (year 11,12,13) meet the second Wednesday of the month. Group C (year 6,7) will meet on the third Wednesday of the month, and Group D (year 4,5) will meet on the forth Wednesday of the month.
We'll talk about books, play games and make new friends in a chill environment at the bookshop 📚
All groups will start at 5:30pm.

Please get in touch if you would like to join a group or if you have any questions 😊

We run a Queer & Neurodiverse book club!

Last Thursday of the month, 6:00pm-7:30pm. It's a very open, easygoing group of lovely people. There is no expectation to finish books or talk loads during the meetings. Just come along!
There is often informal discussion around topics on Queerness and Neurodiversity and our experiences with it.

Our Halloween Recommendations 🎃 👻

We have some amazing books that lean into the creepy and sinister while others are full on horror. Here are a selection of our favourites 🧡
Some are titles we have had for a long time that we keep going back but we also have a few newer books that have had us on the edge of our seat!

Our top five books 🏅

Since the start of October, these are our best sellers!
Some of these will be because it's spooky season and readers are looking for creepy books. Some are on The Booker Prize list and 'Mushrooms' is just so pretty, who could say no!

What books are you reading for spooky season? 👻

Banned Books Week 📚🚫
4th-10th October

It's the perfect time to try reading some books that have been banned and learn about the reasons why some people want to ban books and how important it is to protect our freedom to read.

#bannedbooks #controversial #bookshop #newcastle

This situation last year involving a secondary school in Manchester banning 193 books from their library is worrying. This can't become a normal thing 🚫🚨
