📣 ¡Conozca sus derechos! / Know your rights! 📣

The City of Baltimore has a dedicated "Know Your Rights" webpage to help residents understand their constitutional rights and find local resources amid the current climate of cruel and reckless federal immigration enforcement activity.

On this page you can learn about:
▪️Your rights if you encounter ICE or other law enforcement officers
▪️Your rights if you live in or are applying to public housing (HUD tenants)
▪️The Safe City Baltimore initiative: a program that offers know your rights education, immigration legal screenings, and support for families impacted by detention @mimabaltimore
▪️How to contact local immigration legal service providers
▪️Where to access a printable Know Your Rights “Red Card” to keep in your wallet
▪️Resources on how service providers of different sectors can protect their communities and workplaces during immigration enforcement

I was grateful to be able to participate in the annual Civil Rights Breakfast as part of Civil Rights Week here in Baltimore. Many thanks to the Office of Equity and Civil Rights for all of their leadership.

I was excited to see my colleague Cindy Baez honored as a Community Leader to Watch! I've included her speech here, because she was saying holy and true and powerful things with her time on stage. by @1stdistrictmark

We had a great time at the 60th annual Fells Point Fun Festival last weekend! A huge thanks to the Preservation Society of Federal Hill and Fells Point for a fantastic event and for the work they do every day, every year, for 60 years, to celebrate, protect, and sustain this historic and dynamic neighborhood. by @1stdistrictmark

The bumpout is finally going in at Chester and Pratt! Love seeing pedestrian-friendly improvements in our neighborhoods--and especially this one, which only happened because of the leadership and persistence of Andrew and lots of other neighbors. Well done! by @1stdistrictmark

Every day is a great day to bike to school! We love our neighborhood schools, and I particularly love our little (growing) Bike Bus of 10-12 kids from Highlandtown. Rising through Patterson Park gives all of us a chance to relax and have fun before a full day of learning. by @1stdistrictmark

It was a delight and an honor to join so many neighbors, community leaders, City staff, and elected officials to cut the ribbon and officially open Rash Field Phase 2. A huge thanks to everyone, but especially to the @waterfrontpartnership and to my friend Tyler Miller who worked so hard to bring the gift of this park to all of us.

My brother and I grew up just a few blocks away, and this was a big part of our childhood: the brutalist playground, the carousel, the promenade along the water, the ice rink, running laps, and visiting the memorial garden for the original Pride of Baltimore. And, for all of that, it has mostly felt like a neglected afterthought of the Inner Harbor.

Not anymore! Rash Field captures exactly what the harbor is intended to be: a beautiful, thoughtful, engaging, active, public space for people from all over our city and of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. The best parts of the plan for the future of the Inner Harbor build on that vision and these values, expanding and improving public spaces and public access so that more and more Baltimoreans can find and build community in this shared space. by @1stdistrictmark

I’m not at all surprised to see @govwesmoore ‘s approval rating continue to rise among Marylanders because he’s delivering results.

As a lifelong Baltimorean, I can attest to the REAL impact of having a governor that cares about Baltimore City. Under his leadership, the State has been a true partner in making our communities safer, investing in our schools, and lowering costs for working families.

There’s still plenty of work to be done, but having Governor Moore in Annapolis means we’ll continue to see results from our government. by @1stdistrictmark
