$2008 Topps Chrome Superfractor 1/1 Prince. The best 2008 set you can find. The middle lineup power of the most iconic 2000’s Brewers team to date. by @2008_brewers_collection$

2008 Game 162 and Playoffs as captured through a Sprint flip phone camera (cutting edge quality back then):

Photo 1: Dugout celebration with confetti once the Mets game was final and they officially clinched the Wild Card

Photo 2: Fielder shaking hands with fans.

Photo 3: Hardy and Hart giving high fives to fans.

Photo 4: Game 3 with my dad (first playoff game in Miller Park, Brewers win 4-1)

Photo 5: Game 4 with my dad in our seats. The first and last time noisemakers were handed out at the park. Roof closed, sounded like explosions throughout the game. One of the most epic environments I’ve ever experienced at a sports event. Jeff Suppan warming up in the middle of the 1st inning to Baba O’Riley with fans banging thundersticks. At one point he stopped throwing and just stood on the mound and watched. He proceeded to give up 5 runs in 3 innings unfortunately. by @2008_brewers_collection

The start of a new era of Brewers baseball began with the player commemorated in this card. The most important Brewers player of the 2000’s. Ryan Braun was an MVP, probably would’ve had a second in 2012 had it not been for controversial behavior that impacted the writers’ voting. He won rookie of the year in 2007 and compiled 7 All-Star appearances during his career. He remains the franchise leader in home runs and is top 3 or higher in a number of other offensive categories.

Braun’s 2008 season was special to say the least. He won his first of 5 career Silver Slugger awards and was 3rd in MVP voting. The standout 2008 performance that automatically etched his name in Brewers history was game 162 in the bottom of the 8th inning where he hit a HR to the Brewers bullpen in left field to break the 1-1 tie and ultimately send the team to their first postseason in 26 years. It was a clutch moment that turned the fate of the Brewers organization for years to come. Much of the current team success was launched with that single long ball to left field. I was lucky enough to be at that game with my dad seated in the Loge Level directly behind the Visitor Dugout. There was an uneasy feeling all game as the Brewers fought through a 1-0 deficit until the 7th inning. Sabathia was able to pitch yet another complete game and hold the 97 win Cubs down long enough for Braun to strike. The moment that bail hit Braun’s bat every one of the 45k in attendance knew it was gone. To this day it was still the loudest single moment I’ve ever experienced at that ball park. The electricity continued into the next inning where everyone knew Sabathia would lock the Cubs down once and for all and complete the epic regular season. by @2008_brewers_collection

$2011 Finest Mosaic Refractor /10 Fielder. Such a tough parallel to find in baseball with only one year of production vs. two years in football. by @2008_brewers_collection$

2011 Finest Mosaic /10 and 2012-2014 Finest Atomic /5. Braun’s 2011-2014 Finest run has some of the best parallels that featured great rarity in the Mosaic and Atomic. I would’ve liked to see these parallels continued further. by @2008_brewers_collection

2004 SPX Swatch Supremacy Spectrum /25. Great design and on card auto in this set. The game used jersey is from a 1982 retro. Prior to 2007, the 1982 retros were only used in a handful of games. by @2008_brewers_collection

2009 Topps Black /58 Sabathia. The greatest 17 game stretch, for a pitcher, in modern baseball history. 4.9 WAR, 11-2, 1.65 ERA, 7 complete games, 3 shutouts with a 255 ERA+. Sabathia was not only the greatest midseason acquisition in baseball history, but he essentially is the reason that the Brewers made the playoffs for the first time in 26 years during the 2008 season. Now with the Brewers getting into the postseason 7 of the last 8 years and multiple times before that with an NLCS run in 2018 and 2011, this success can be attributed to the 2008 team. If not for a breakthrough in 2008, there would’ve been a front office overhaul and a shift in direction with the team that may have led to key players like Braun and Fielder being traded if there wasn’t success on the field.

This is one of two Topps flagship releases for Sabathia in a Brewers uniform. His card selection as a Brewers is extremely limited, as one can imagine. Although he was in NY during the 2009 season, this card is significant because it’s his first Topps base set release as a Brewer. In 2008 he was included in the Update set. The Topps Black parallel is the best non-1/1 option for Sabathia during his playing days with the Brewers. If anyone has any leads on the Topps Platinum 1/1 of Sabathia in 2008 or 2009, please contact me. by @2008_brewers_collection

$2006 Bowman Sterling Prospects Gold Refractors /10. Take a look at this checklist and if you have a player in the set…get it. These have some of the best gold shine you could have on a card. by @2008_brewers_collection$

$2006 Finest Gold X-Fractor /10. This is Weeks’ only Finest release and an awesome parallel that rivals the Superfractor in the looks department. by @2008_brewers_collection$

$2013 Bowman Chrome Superfractor. One of the great photos of Gallardo on a baseball card. The Superfractor design is just the icing on the cake. by @2008_brewers_collection$

$2011 Bowman Chrome Superfractor 1/1 Gallardo. I was gifted this one by @roundtree13_cards in a roundabout way. Missed a listing on eBay and was privileged to have a fellow collector help me out. Just really interesting style of Superfractor and one that is growing on me a bit. It’s a lighter version of the parallel, but the framing and photography are really nice on almost all the cards from the set. by @2008_brewers_collection$
