Allow us to reintroduce ourselves.

We've always believed that potential is universal; opportunity is not.

That's the gap we're here to close.

14 years of showing up for young people across London who've got the drive but not always the access.

I Am Change builds your mindset and gets you clear on your next move. Levels takes your business idea and gives it real structure, mentoring and support to grow.

Both free. Both 12 weeks. Both just the start.

Because the support doesn't stop when the programme ends. You get the community, the network, the opportunities landing in your inbox long after.

You don't have to change who you are to belong in these rooms. You just need the access. That's what we're here for.

Stop sleeping on LinkedIn if you're serious about landing your next role. Three things to do today.

Sort your profile out. Professional photo, updated skills and experience, and an About section that tells anyone who lands on it who you are and what you're looking for. First job hunting? Say it with confidence: "Actively seeking my first role in industry because I'm passionate about X]"

Don't just apply, message the recruiter. When LinkedIn shows you who's hiring for the role, slide into their DMs. Something like "Hi, I'm name I've applied for role, excited about it because reason. Would you share what the ideal candidate looks like?" That's what makes you visible.

Turn "Open to Work" on, then work the hack. Switch it off Friday, back on Sunday evening, so you're always near the top when recruiters are searching.

And even if you're not job hunting, use LinkedIn to build your personal brand. Share your wins and your projects, stay visible, make your next move easier before you even need it.

Meet Lawrence. Artist, designer, creative entrepreneur, and one of our I Am Change alumni. His work’s been shown in London and Lagos, but most days still look like this, quiet, ordinary, unglamorous. That’s the part nobody shows you.

If you’re a young creative or an early career professional in London still figuring out your lane, this is what the process actually looks like. Not overnight. Not perfect. Just consistent.

20/20 Levels exists for exactly this, mentorship, community and career development for young people who are done waiting for permission to start.

Job security is a myth. Value security is the move.

You can hit every target, do everything right, and still get made redundant. Nine times out of ten, it's got nothing to do with your performance. So stop asking "how do I make sure this company needs me" and start asking "how do I make sure the market still values me".

That means skills that travel with you, not ones tied to one company's scorecard. Results you can point to industry to industry. Relationships outside your current job. CV and LinkedIn updated even when you're not looking. Commercial and technical literacy, AI fluency, the ability to actually explain what you bring to the table.

Your job title belongs to your employer. Your career capital belongs to you.

Still ask for the promotion. Still build your case. Just don't build a career that only works for one company. Build one that gives you choices, that's leverage, and leverage is the only security that matters right now.

Part 3 of the series on getting a promotion.

Every level up starts with someone who saw it before you did. That’s what this team is here for.

From your first message about the programme, to the mentor checking in mid journey, to the person making sure the systems behind it all actually work, this is who’s showing up for you.

You’ve probably already spoken to one of us. Now put a face to it.

Save this so you know exactly who to reach out to, whenever you need us. by @2020levels

Getting a promotion, part 2.

You could be doing the work, carrying the load, solving the problem and still get overlooked because of how it's being said in the room.

That's not about confidence you don't have. It's about language nobody taught you.

"I'd like to add another perspective" instead of "sorry, can I just add something"
"My recommendation would be" instead of "I'm not sure but maybe"
"The biggest impact we've seen" instead of "I've been really busy"
"I see two options, my recommendation is X" instead of "what do you want me to do"

Small shifts. But they're the difference between sounding like you're doing the job and sounding like you're ready for the next one.

Save this before your next meeting. Catch part 1 if you missed it.

Four levels. One founder journey. Here's what building a business from nothing actually looks like.

Level 1: Find the gap. Black women were already spending heavily on hair extensions, but very few brands were building for them properly. Tendai Moyo and Ugo Agbai saw the gap and built for it.

Level 2: Prove people care. Ruka didn't start with millions. They started with a £25,000 ask to the community closest to the problem. They raised £27,000 in three weeks. Your first win is proof people believe in the idea.

Level 3: Turn proof into leverage. That early raise became momentum. Momentum became £1.7 million in angel and seed funding within a year, then more rounds followed, taking total funding to £10 million. Every win should make your next ask stronger.

Level 4: Stack the proof. Funding is only part of the story. Patent pending fibre technology. First Black owned hair extension brand in Selfridges. Now on shelves at Sephora. One milestone rarely builds credibility alone, you keep stacking reasons for people to believe in the business.

The takeaway: you don't need to start at the level you want to reach. You need enough proof to unlock the next one.

Building a business or an early stage startup and don't know where to start. Levels is our free business development programme and business incubator for underrepresented founders in London. Marketing, finance, mindset, plus the community and mentorship to help you move your idea forward.

Interviews don't have to feel like a guessing game.

If you've got one coming up and you're not sure where to start, this is your move. Research the company properly, know why you actually want the role (not just the paycheck), have your examples ready, and sort your outfit and route the night before so the morning isn't chaos.

None of this is about being perfect. It's about walking in knowing you did the work, so when the nerves hit, you've still got something to stand on.

Save this if your interview is coming up. Send it to your friend who said "I'll just wing it."

What's the one thing you always forget to prep before an interview? Tell us below, we might turn it into the next checklist.
