Things I’ve learned from #glassblowing and #aggressiveskating: 💭🍷🛼🌀❤️‍🔥

- Community accelerates growth
- Visualize —> actualize
- Where your head goes, your body will follow
- The right tools and gears make a difference
- Burn you learn
- Prime yourself for the long term
- Embrace the performance art 🤌🏼

thank you to my ladies @__natural.mystic__ & @oddluckarts for capturing my flow 🎥

Practicing radical honesty with myself and those around me:

I’m in a weird transition phase these days.

My fairy godmother says I need to prioritize slowing down and self-care. Not having a home space and studio where I can create freely is… constraining.

All the artifacts of my creative existence reside in a storage unit… my wheel, wedging table, tools, market inventory, everything. 😞

It’s rough out here keeping my life organized, but I trust that there’s something magical on the horizon.

Somewhere I belong, somewhere all these scattered pieces of my creative life can come back together, and somewhere I can invite you to share in it with me. Though I can’t see it, I can feel it. All my elders remind me of it too.

I know there are many of you who would love to support me & my artwork, and I’m figuring out what that looks like in this season of my life.

Thank you for sticking around 💌 by @23.beans

Started doing “wheel doodles” at the beginning of my wheel-throwing courses. It’s been a great way to ease into the process on the first day. New potters get comfortable sitting at the wheel, using the foot pedal controls speed, start training their eye to “see” center, and figure out where and how to hold a tool steady.

Plus it’s just plain old fun
Reminds me of spin art as a kid 🌀🫟

Brought this exercise to @virginiamoca’s Monster Drawing Rally last month and folks seemed to have enjoyed it there too! by @23.beans
