Inspiring day at @vancouverartgallery at the Climate Country and Future Geographies exhibitions with the fabulous @mitsyart_drawing_embodiment . This was after @moa_ubc yesterday with John. I was reminded of the festival of art and climate in Melbourne in July and how I want to help carry that work forward to activate it in other contexts.

Introducing our wee friend Louis! Little Louis is a Chiweenie we scooped up from a dog rescue in Washington state last week. He is charming and quirky with loads of puppy energy. Feeling really lucky to be loved by a dog again! Though there never will be another Benny or Flora, it feels wonderful to open our home and hearts to a pup in need! by @23angelas

Summer’s last splash! Debra came up for adventures and deep porch hangs with her favorite ex-pats. 🇨🇦 Then we came down to Bellingham to see our kids and meet up with the one and only @mysterycity23 for more exploring and good times. Then John and I had our 26th wedding anniversary, and the next day our one year anniversary of arriving in Vancouver! Grateful! ✨ by @23angelas

@swisplab was honoured to be awarded a 2025 CHASS Distinctive Work Prize for Tipping Point Stories: Youth Climate Futures 2024 – Voice of Change at COP29
This recognition belongs to an extraordinary international team: @kateycoleman, Dr Sacha Healy, @23angelas, @criticalcassie, @kriagg, @jagathv, Prof Eri Saikawa, and to the hundreds of young people across Australia, India and the United States who trusted us with their stories.

Together, through SWISP Lab, we asked a simple question: What is the moment you realised climate change had become personal?

Those responses became more than stories. They became artworks, data, zines, performances and conversations that travelled from classrooms and communities to the global stage at @cop29_azerbaijan

This award is also a reminder that arts-based and artistic research matters. Creative practice doesn’t simply communicate climate change, it creates spaces where people can attend differently, listen more carefully and imagine futures together.

Thank you to CHASS for this recognition, and to everyone who has been part of this journey. This is only the beginning.
