One year ago, in the days following the fires, our hearts were breaking as updates came in minute by minute, each one carrying the weight of an unimaginable loss felt by our friends, our families, and the city we were born and raised in. Los Angeles changed overnight, and so did all of us.

Late at night on January 9th, guided purely by instinct, we shared a quickly put together, makeshift, and misspelled flier on Instagram, offering my dad’s bar as a local donation hub. By the next morning, our doors were filled with people just as desperate and eager to help. Cars arrived packed with essential goods. Neighbors showed up ready to do whatever was needed.

Since that day, we have worked around the clock in support of our city and its fire affected communities, long before we could imagine how far this journey would go or how many lives we would be honored to meet along the way.

Looking back now fills us with a gratitude that is hard to put into words. Over this past year, that same instinct has guided everything we have done. In the middle of heartbreak, people showed up for one another with time, with resources, with patience, and with so much love. What began in deep loss became a powerful reminder of what is possible when we choose connection and stand together.

Over the past year, we have supported more than 15,000 fire affected individuals and distributed over four million dollars in brand new, in kind donations. Through our free shop, community events, mental health and financial resources, and partnerships with like minded organizations, we continue meeting the evolving needs of our city.

The road to recovery for thousands of Angelenos remains long, and that is exactly why 24LA remains here.

We are deeply grateful to every person who has been part of this journey and honored to continue serving alongside you in the year ahead. Our city still needs us, and we will keep showing up, together.
May we keep listening to our hearts.
May we keep showing up for one another.
May we keep caring for our neighbors, now and always.
With all our love and deepest gratitude,

The 24LA Team 🤍 taken in Los Angeles, California by @24laproject

Relief efforts don’t just provide resources, they can also shape how people navigate recovery and stability in the aftermath of crisis.

Our latest interview highlights @24laproject, a Los Angeles based non-profit developing systems of support rooted in community care. The organization itself began from a state of urgency, and has since become a lifeline for tens of thousands of individuals affected by the LA wildfires. Their work presents new possibilities of what disaster response can look like when it’s built for accessibility, autonomy, and long-term resilience.

Day one at Marquez Charter Elementary! 🎨
After losing their entire campus in the fires, the Marquez community is beginning a new chapter, and we are honored to play a small part in their comeback.
For our first school beautification project in Pacific Palisades, we are bringing two new murals to life and adding color, joy, and hope to the campus students now call home.

A day we will never forget. ❤️

24LA was honored to participate in Cantor Fitzgerald & BGC Group annual Charity Day alongside our incredible ambassador and friend, Victoria Justice.

Charity Day was created in remembrance of the 658 Cantor Fitzgerald employees and 61 Eurobrokers employees lost on September 11, transforming a day of profound loss into a global day of generosity, action, and giving back.

Victoria stepped onto the trading floor to raise awareness and support for 24LA, sharing our mission with so much heart, energy, and purpose. We are deeply grateful to Vic, @edie.lutnick , the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, and everyone who welcomed and championed 24LA throughout the day. (Loved seeing everyone in 24LA hats made by the one and only @coldsoupco )

The funding 24LA receives through Charity Day will help us advance 8+ shovel ready projects to revitalize disaster affected schools and shared community spaces across Los Angeles. Through art, thoughtful design, youth programming, and collective action, these projects will transform the places where students and communities learn, gather, play, and heal.

There is still so much work ahead, and experiences like Charity Day help make the next chapter of our impact possible.

If you or your organization would like to partner with 24LA or sponsor an upcoming school or community transformation, visit 24LA.org or contact us at info@24LA.org ❤️ taken in New York, New York by @24laproject

I TOOK THE TRADING FLOOR FOR 24LA. ❤️☎️
Yesterday, I had the incredible honor of representing @24laproject at Cantor Fitzgerald’s Charity Day.
Charity Day was created in memory of the 658 Cantor Fitzgerald employees who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Each year, Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Group honor their colleagues and everyone whose life was forever changed that day by donating 100% of the day’s global revenues to charitable organizations around the world.
It is such a powerful example of transforming unimaginable tragedy into a beautiful day of generosity, hope, and meaningful action.
As an ambassador for 24LA, I was so proud to take over the phones, connect with traders, raise money and share a mission that I believe in deeply.
24LA was founded in the immediate aftermath of the Los Angeles fires and has since served more than 19,600 people, distributed $8.2 million in donated goods, mobilized over 1,600 volunteers, and helped bring fire affected schools and community spaces back to life.
Their work is reimagining what long term disaster recovery can look like by using art, community revitalization, youth programming, and shared experiences to restore connection, joy, and belonging.
Thank you to @edie.lutnick , the @cfrelieffund , BGC Group, and everyone who welcomed us so warmly and made this extraordinary day possible. I am so grateful to have participated and so excited to continue standing beside 24LA as they bring this work from Los Angeles to communities everywhere.
Please follow @24laproject learn more about their work, and help us continue building a future where no community has to recover alone. ❤️

Odyssey Charter School South was one of the school campuses in Los Angeles completely destroyed by the January 2025 wildfires. ❤️‍🩹

After losing their Altadena campus in the Eaton Fire, the entire school community was forced to relocate. They had somewhere to go — but their new outdoor space was, quite literally, a parking lot.

We believe the places where people learn, teach, work, play, and grow matter deeply. After everything this community had already been through, the students and staff deserved a campus that felt cared for, joyful, and as special as the people inside it.

In partnership with All Hands and Hearts, 24LA transformed that parking lot into a vibrant schoolyard filled with murals, painted courts and play spaces, gardens, games, and places to gather — bringing color, creativity, and life to a space this community now spends so much of their lives in.

Since completing Phase One of the revitalization, Odyssey South has seen an increase in student enrollment as the school continues to rebuild.

We couldn’t give this community back the school they lost. But we can make sure the place they landed reminds every student, teacher, and staff member that they have not been forgotten — and that people will continue showing up, investing in their community, and working alongside them toward a future that feels hopeful again. ❤️

Because long-term recovery means staying long after the emergency is over.

Made possible alongside our incredible partners, volunteers, and the generous support of Weaver.

Help us transform the next fire affected school. ❤️

Eight school campuses were severely damaged or destroyed in the 2025 Los Angeles fires. Four public and charter school communities lost their campuses entirely.

24LA has now helped transform new spaces for three of those four school communities that experienced a total loss.

At Rosebud Academy, that meant transforming an unfamiliar temporary campus into a brighter, more welcoming place for students to learn, play and begin making new memories.

We revitalized 10 planters, transformed walkways with color and interactive learning elements, created a new soccer field, completely reimagined the basketball court, and brought new murals and art throughout the campus.
But this work is far from finished.

Rosebud and other fire-affected schools still have significant needs, and 24LA has shovel-ready campus revitalization projects waiting for funding.

We are actively seeking donors, corporate sponsors, foundations and funding partners to help us continue this work and bring the next transformation to life.

Your support doesn’t just fund paint, plants or playgrounds. It helps restore spaces for play, connection, belonging and joy for children whose lives and school communities were changed by disaster.

Help us fund what comes next.

“This basketball court is such a big change from when I first got here. It gives me a positive vibe.” ❤️
Sometimes kids say it better than we ever could.
After losing their campus in the Eaton fire, the students of Rosebud Academy were displaced into a new school environment—one they never chose, during a chapter of their lives already defined by so much change.
So when a child tells us that a basketball court feels different now—that it makes him feel positive—we hear something much bigger than a comment about paint.
We hear why this work matters.
Because recovery isn’t only about replacing what was lost. It’s about restoring the places where kids get to be kids. Where they can run, play, laugh, connect, and begin creating new memories in a place that feels like theirs.
A basketball court can be just a basketball court.
Or it can be color where there was gray.
Joy where there was disruption.
A place to play after so much was taken away.
This is what we mean when we say Recovery Reimagined. ❤️

After Rosebud Academy lost its campus in the fires, its students were displaced to another school. For nearly one-third of Rosebud’s students, the loss extended beyond their school—their families lost their homes, too.

In a matter of days, so much of what once felt familiar was gone.

As part of 24LA’s Community Renewal Initiative, our team donated and completed a campus revitalization at their campus, transforming gray concrete and blank walls with playground and wall murals and a newly painted soccer court designed to bring color, play, and a greater sense of belonging back into their everyday environment.

Afterward, one Rosebud student described the change simply:

“Everything used to be just gray, and now it’s all colorful.”

Then he said something we haven’t stopped thinking about.

“It actually became a soccer field. So now we’re able to actually play inside the lines instead of just hitting it against those two bars.”

Research tells us that the environments children learn and play in matter. School design—including color, visual stimulation, and a child’s sense of ownership within a space—has been linked to learning, well-being, and how children experience their surroundings.

And after disaster, when so much of what is familiar has been taken away, restoring spaces for play, expression, connection, and belonging matters even more.

This is why we believe recovery cannot end when the immediate emergency does.

Sometimes rebuilding means walls and roofs.

And sometimes it means helping a child feel like a place is theirs again.

A soccer field.
A playground.
A wall filled with color.
A little bit of childhood returned.

This is what the life-saving tools of creativity and the arts can look like. ❤️ taken in Altadena, CA by @24laproject

24LA (@24LAProject) was created from friendship, community, and a commitment to show up when it mattered most 💛

Founded by best friends Kenyan Armitage and Malin Smith just days after the fires, 24LA has already helped support more than 16,000 Angelenos impacted by the wildfires through the distribution of over $6 million in new in-kind donations.

As recovery continues, so does the need. Their mission is not only to provide essentials, but to ensure families are able to shop with dignity, care, and support during an incredibly difficult time 🫂

We were so proud to sponsor this mural by local Altadena artist Austin Scott on the side of the beloved George’s Corner Store — a neighborhood staple deeply impacted by the fires.

Austin pours so much of his heart into Altadena, and we were honored to support his work in bringing color, life, and joy back to a corner that means so much to this community.

But what made this mural even more special was that Austin didn’t paint it alone.

We hosted a Community Paint Day, inviting neighbors, families, and kids to pick up a brush and leave their own mark on the wall. And somewhere throughout the day, the flowers we were painting began to feel like a metaphor for the community around us.

Looking around at so many people who have endured so much — standing side by side, painting flowers together — there was something incredibly moving about it. After everything this community has been through, here they were creating beauty again. Gathering again. Laughing again. Blooming again.

For some, painting was therapeutic. For others, it was simply a moment of joy and connection in the middle of an incredibly difficult chapter. We heard how special it felt knowing that when George’s reopens, they’ll drive past this wall on the way to school or through the neighborhood and remember that they were part of bringing it to life. Kids will be able to point to a flower years from now and say, “I painted that.”

This is what our work is about.

Creating opportunities for communities to participate in the recovery of their own neighborhoods. Because rebuilding after disaster isn’t only about replacing what was lost. It’s also about restoring the things that are harder to measure — hope, connection, ownership, beauty, and excitement for what comes next.

One day, George’s doors will open again. Altadena will continue to rebuild. And this wall will remain as a small reminder that even after the hardest seasons, we can bloom again. 🌼

Together, for love, always. ❤️
