Before the first splash, before the challenge began, there was this moment.

During the opening prayer of the 2026 SEAL Swim, one participant stood holding the American flag as tears ran down his face. I don’t know what was moving through his heart in that moment—and I don’t think I have to.

Three days at @iamholyhustle and I’ve come to one conclusion…

I need to stop telling myself, “I’ll just get a couple shots real quick.” 😂

Huge thank you to the Holy Hustle family for trusting me to capture the experience. Watching people fight forward, encourage one another, and refuse to quit was something special to witness.

Now… I was supposed to be behind the camera the whole time.

But somewhere between battery swaps and changing lenses, I wandered over to the weights and started throwing around enough iron to remind myself I still got a little something left in the tank. 💪🏾😅

Don’t worry… I finished my set before yelling, “Hold on, let me get this angle!” 📸😂

Appreciate you all for the hospitality, the laughs, and letting me be part of it. Looking forward to the next one.

Huge thank you to my guy @lancefresh for trusting me to capture the behind-the-scenes of Finish the Verse featuring A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Now… there was one small problem.

I’m a pseudo Red Sox fan…

So standing a few feet away from a Yankee required an incredible amount of professionalism, emotional maturity… and silently booing in my heart for the sake of baseball tradition. 😂

Don’t worry—I kept it classy. The camera got great footage. Nobody got beaned. We all survived.

Grateful for opportunities like this and the people who continue to invite me into rooms where incredible things are happening.

Now can somebody tell me where I can apply for hazard pay for the emotional distress?!

Counterpoint:
Look at it.

Some photos deserve an encore.

Also… this is documented evidence that husbands should occasionally listen to their wives.

This was 100% my wife’s idea.

Me: “I don’t know…”
Her: “Trust me.”

And now I’m over here looking at the back of my camera like I discovered fire.

So congratulations to my wife on being right for what I will generously estimate is the first time this week. 😂

This shot has officially earned permanent residency in my wedding and engagement sessions.

Moral of the story:
Marry someone smarter than you.
Then have the humility to admit it every once in a while.

The McLaren’s were already married, but on the Fourth of July they made it official in front of the people who love them most; because ya know fireworks weren’t enough…

Two doctors. Two of the most pleasant people I’ve ever had the joy of being around. And after the ceremony… They celebrated like the dance floor had excellent health insurance.

Summer school Spanish has officially begun at Casa de Los Branch’s

My wife read a Spanish book with our older two — ages 11 and 6 — because apparently we are raising cultured, bilingual little scholars

Then she broke out the matching board game for our 3-year-old, because tiny people need tiny curriculum and snacks nearby

And me?

I contributed to the educational experience by taking pictures and nodding like I understood the lesson plan

She taught.
They learned.
I documented.

Giving value away for free doesn’t mean you don’t value what you know. It means you understand that generosity can build trust long before revenue ever shows up.

So much of what I know was poured into me by people who spent years learning, failing, building, adjusting, and still chose to share what they learned. So why wouldn’t I do the same?

The objective of overflow isn’t to admire your full cup. It’s to fill someone else’s.

Sometimes the free post, lesson, video, caption, or conversation is the thing that helps someone take the next step. And if you keep giving with excellence, clarity, consistency, and heart, eventually someone will want to buy from you.

Not because you manipulated them.
Because you served them.

Getting tired of giving is like planting seeds, staring at the dirt for ten minutes, and calling the harvest fake. That’s not wisdom. That’s impatience wearing a business hat.

So keep pouring.
Real overflow was never just about having more.
It was about becoming the kind of person who could be trusted to pour.

I’m here to help creatives get better, build confidence, and stop treating their camera like it has unresolved childhood trauma.
