Hi! Welcome to our new insta!

We are Abbie (the one in the pink jacket in the first photo) and Millie (the one in the dress in the first photo) and we're a couple in our late 20s/early 30s living in London. We recently got engaged and are getting married next year which is very exciting!

We've both had a love of board games for a while. This started with Abbie first purchasing Flamecraft back in 2022 after seeing a cute TikTok of it and wanting to play more games.

This slowly snowballed and since living together we've now acquired over 50 board games! What started as a hobby for Abbie that Millie was dragged into turned into a love for us both.

We adore a wide variety of games from strategy, worker placement and cozy games.

Our favorites at the moment are

Wingspan

Viticulture

Flamecraft

Lord of the Ring Duels

Qwirkle

We currently have 6 games on order either through awaiting restock or Kickstarters and although we decided at the beginning of the year we would only buy 5 games each this has crumbled very quickly…whoops!

We would love to share more of our content of us enjoying these games and getting to know people within the community! by @2boardsapphics

For #firstimpressionsfriday🎲 we're talking about Duel of Meloch. Please note this was gifted to us for review reasons via @jameystegmaier @stonemaiergames Please note all views are our own and no AI was used in writing this caption!

This is a multi caption post so please swipe to see more!

Duel of meloch is a 2 player head to head game using the gameplay of both Scythe and Expeditions. The game acts as a standalone game (where neither previous games are required to play) or as an expansion of either game.

We came into this game with a unique view of never having played either – swipe to see our thoughts on how approachable this game is for new players of both Scythe and Expeditions!

So how does the game work? Its actually relatively simple. One of you plays as the Scythe player using Scythe rules and one plays as the Expedition player using Expedition rules.

The games were already set in the same universe and now you interact on the same map. The way the games are combined is incredibly clever, each hex on the map has multiple pieces of information – some relevant to Scythe and some relevant to Expeditions.

So how do you interact? Well you have a shared goal track where you place your stars once you have reached certain objectives. The trick is, each space can only take one players star. So if the other player meets their equivalent goal first, you can no longer claim this objective.

A lot of the goals are shared e.g getting to a certain level of power, whilst others are similar difficulties in each game e.g deploying 4 mechs in Scythe and completing 3 quests in Expeditions.

The first to get 4 stars on the board wins!

There’s combat included which is fun as this isn’t in the original Expeditions game and is introduced in a really nice way

Please swipe to read our thoughts!!

This also fits for #boardtober2026 hosted by @getintogames 'who do you trust'

Our thoughts:

🌈🌈🌈 Points:

-This game just feels so clever. The way it incorporates two games mechanics is genius

-It feels so replayable - there's two different sides of the goal board to keep games fresh but as each player plays so differently swapping this around will keep gameplay fresh ea by @2boardsapphics

For day 15 of #boardtober2026 hosted by @getintogames the theme is 'when the sun goes down' and what could be more apt than this spooky puzzle

That's right, today we are talking about something a little different... A puzzle!

We were sent this from @puzzletubes to review via @ukbg_review_circle As always, all thoughts are our own.

This is a fabulously spooky 1,000 piece puzzle with a twist, once you finish, you turn it into augmented reality, and the puzzle comes to life in front of you.

🌈🌈🌈
-Each piece had something to look at and try to place
-Having the augmented reality means that you aren't admiring your puzzle in a passive way
-It was incredibly addictive
-There were two reference pictures inside, so there werent any fights for the picture

🌧️🌧️🌧️
-The puzzle box was a bit small for all the pieces so at first it was a bit of a struggle to find what we were looking for and had to be inventive

Overall, we had a great time with this spooky puzzle and would recommend this company! by @2boardsapphics

This week for #wildcardwednesday hosted by @han_playsgames the theme is dirty little secret... So we decided to showcase our Kickstarter addiction. Theme was suggested by @buryboardgames

More relevant - when we first started backing things on kickstarter, Abbie would occasionally back things and 'forget' to tell Millie... Leading to them becoming her dirty little secret! Thankfully we are past that stage now and all decisions are made together, but the amount of Kickstarters we end up backing still feels intense!

Excited to see everyone else's secrets!! by @2boardsapphics

This week for #mysterymonday🎲 the theme is box organisation

We absolutely love a box that comes with an organisation guide. There is something about being overwhelmed with pieces and turning over a rulebook to see how to get everything back in neatly. Chefs kiss 🤌🏼

Which game is this particular organisation guide from? We see the guide itself at the bottom but also a creature holding a well organised box, which is printed on the side of the game box. It's like boxception!

Hope everyone has a fab week and happy Monday! by @2boardsapphics

Well they weren't expecting this... Is the prompt for day 11 of #boardtober2026 hosted by @getintogames

And look... It may be a headcannon.. but you cannot tell me Sam and Frodo spent that many cold nights alone without at least a spoon

For those who don't know the lord of the rings, it ends like this:

'Miser Frodo, I just love you'
'I love you too Sam'

They kiss. There's a big pride party with Gandalf as the DJ and Rosie Cotton comes out as a big lesbian. The end.

I promise you that's how it ends. If you see something different when you watch it, you must have the wrong version!

For #boardtober2026 hosted by @getintogames day 10 the theme is 'it has woken'

Meet the Abbie.

On first impressions, she seems kind, friendly, and relatively normal. She spends her days trying to disguise herself among her fellow humans.

But spend enough time with her, and you’ll soon discover that beneath this exterior lies an uncontrollable board game purchasing habit. Every month the lie 'we'll only buy one game this month' is uttered and every month it is broken.

The Abbie can often be found hunting for her next Kickstarter to back, because girl maths means it's free when it arrives.

If not on Kickstarter she is likely on board game arena, filling her fix virtually with those strangers her parents warned her about her online.

In the evenings, she is rarely alone, accompanied by her wife Millie who tries to reign in her purchasing habits. But, oh wait, there's a game on sale. The Abbie is lost again to the neverending cycle of boardgame capitalism

Approach with caution. Especially near a board game shop. The hunger for board game purchases... It has woken. by @2boardsapphics

For #firstimpressionsfriday🎲 we're talking about Cavern shuffle: perils on the planet, a solo only game based around solitare by @gravyboat_games lent to us for review via @ukbg_review_circle

As with solitare, the aim is to get your workers (suits) into order in their home. You do this by putting alternating coloured workers in descending order in the dungeon to try and reveal all cards.

Whats added into this version is a little extra challenge, with monsters and obstacles making your job harder! To defeat a monster you must have a certain number of workers already in their home (your party). If you do not yet meet this requirement, the monster remains where it is, blocking other cards.

The crawler is the big boss of the game and starts sitting alone in the first row of the dungeon. As soon as you add any worker to your party, he moves and starts blocking off rows. Once he reaches the 7th row he returns but now infects all other monsters to make them more difficult!

You do have some items to try and make your gameplay easier – in this version you have a scanner, which uses potions you obtain when defeating obstacles as power. You can use this to re-shuffle your exploration deck (the cards not in the dungeon, as in usual solitare), make a monster slightly easier to defeat or peek at cards under others in your dungeon.

Other items you may pick up throughout include an infected worker – who can carry on a sequence in your dungeon but will need to be defeated later and a shelter where you can start a new sequence from your exploration deck.

🌈🌈🌈 points:

-This game is so simple to pick up. As its based on classic solitare it feels familiar whilst adding in extra challenges that are easy to learn
-The game feels so addictive – it plays fast and because there’s a decent challenge I often found myself going ‘just one more game’
-Its just really fun!

🌧️🌧️🌧️ points:
-This can feel really difficult to defeat which can feel disheartening but also adds to the fun

Overall this is fantastic and I'm so happy we backed this on Kickstarter! It's a great solo game that would travel well and we can't wait to try the other versions

We were sent the latest wave of pins from the @itsthehouseofpins from their hatchlings line and aren't they the cutest thing ever? We got this via @ukbg_review_circle

We absolutely love these pins. We love how adorable they are but also how each character comes with a backstory to make them feel like more than just a pin

The Kickstarter to get this second wave ends today (in 13 hours from posting!) so make sure you go support and back the Kickstarter - link can be found in @itsthehouseofpins bio! by @2boardsapphics
