Last season I set 3 simple goals for the Raptors before the season started. They met and slightly surpassed each one. We're gonna try this again for 2026-27 and track the team's progress throughout the year. Some extra thoughts/context:

While I actually think this is an easier team to evaluate, I think setting goals is a bit more of a challenge. For a few different reasons:

1. The East is stacked. 2. I'm not sure how many games Kawhi will play. 3. It sounds like the front office might not be done with making moves.

Last year it was a little more clear where the Raptors stood and what that "next step" was. This year it's more like "hey we have an elite roster, let's throw our hat in the ring and go for it all."

I'll be clear: I do think this team could win it all this year. But I wouldn't quite go as far as to say that's the expectation. I think a first round exit would be a strong disappointment. A second round exit could also be but depends on the context. I would consider an Eastern Conference Finals berth a success.

Are these fair? What would you change?

Back-to-back fun preseason losses for the Raptors! In different ways. The real thing tips off on Wednesday! Who wants to go to the game with me?

We might actually win this game hahaha. 104-104 atm.

Pistons regular rotation played three quarters against the Raptors backup backups and nobody made it to +10 lmao.

While it's all completely meaningless, it can still be enjoyable.

Raptors would clinch a top 6 spot with a win tonight. They could still get in through the play-in with a loss via additional Bulls, Cavs and 76ers losses this evening. But would have to win 2 play-in games through the 9-10 slot.

I'm just kidding I completely made that up and could not be bothered to do the math on a fake preseason playoff race. Is it October 21st yet?
