POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Toronto finished last in pull-up three frequency last season, while Kawhi made as many pull-up threes per game as the entire Raptors roster combined. He gives them someone who can create a shot when the initial action breaks down, easing that responsibility for Scottie and Quickley. Scottie should get more opportunities to attack after the defense has shifted, with Barrett’s cutting and improved decision-making giving them another way to keep those possessions moving.

Collin Murray-Boyles could also earn more closing minutes because of how differently he attacks compared with Poeltl. His ability to put bigger defenders in motion gives Toronto another option offensively, while Allen Graves adds offensive rebounding and the ability to force turnovers. The Raptors were 16th in half-court offensive rebounding last season at 28.9%, so there’s room to improve there. Playing Graves, Murray-Boyles and Scottie together would offer plenty of size and defensive versatility, although those combinations still need enough shooting to give their passing somewhere to go.

The price for Kawhi was substantial, with Ingram, Gradey Dick, three firsts and a swap going out. His availability remains a concern, even with a supporting cast that offers more ways to cover regular-season minutes. Kyle Anderson helps preserve the frontcourt passing in the second unit, and there should be opportunities to keep playing through the bigs when Kawhi rests.

The offseason earns an A, with the model projecting roughly 46 wins and a 57% chance of making the playoffs. That’s close to the market expectation, while the more optimistic case depends on Kawhi staying available and the younger forwards handling larger roles. Toronto has several plausible closing combinations now, and the early rotation should help establish how much shooting they can sacrifice to get their best defenders and rebounders together.

Toronto’s new starting five.

Kawhi Leonard is back in a Raptors jersey after a career-high 27.9 points a night last season, including a 55-point game.

Scottie Barnes did a bit of everything: 18.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and he tied the franchise record with 25 rebounds in one game.

RJ Barrett put up 19.3 a night and finished hot, 21.7 in March.
Immanuel Quickley ran the offense with four assists for every turnover. And Jakob Poeltl shot 70% from the field.

This group took Cleveland to Game 7 without Kawhi. Now they have him.

Imagine having to deal with Scottie Barnes, Kawhi Leonard AND Collin Murray-Boyles picking you up full court 😭

The Raptors could be an absolute nightmare to score against with this much size, length and versatility.

TORONTO RAPTORS

Toronto has several young players competing for roles around an experienced core. Murray-Boyles has the clearest path to a bigger role after a strong playoff run, while Walter and Shead already bring useful skills to the rotation.
For Graves, Battle and Jackson-Davis, the challenge will be finding a way into the rotation and showing they can contribute when opportunities come.

Allen Graves

The No. 19 pick averaged 11.8 pts, 6.5 reb and 1.9 stl at Santa Clara while shooting 41.3 3PT%. At 6’9” with a 7’0” wingspan, his shooting, length and defensive versatility give him a clear 3&D pathway.
With established forwards ahead of him, contributing without needing many touches will be key.

Collin Murray-Boyles

Murray-Boyles averaged 8.5 pts, 5.0 reb and 1.9 ast on 57.9 FG% as a rookie before stepping up in the playoffs with 14.4 pts, 6.4 reb, 2.4 ast, 1.3 stl and 1.1 blk. His strength, rebounding and feel already translate. Improving his 3PT shot is the next step toward expanding his offensive role.

Ja’Kobe Walter

Walter averaged 7.5 pts and 2.6 reb while shooting 40.9 3PT%, a major jump from 34.9% as a rookie. His shooting and perimeter defense give him a clear role, but Toronto’s wing depth creates plenty of competition. Maintaining that efficiency will be important to earn more minutes.

Jamal Shead

Shead played all 82 games last season, averaging 6.6 pts and 5.4 ast in 22.6 mpg. His playmaking, toughness and POA defense give Toronto value, but he shot 36.7 FG% and 32.1 3PT%. Becoming a more efficient scoring threat could help him take another step as a backup PG.

Jamison Battle

Battle shot 41.2 3PT% last season despite playing only 8.5 mpg. His size and shooting make him an interesting floor spacer, and he showed he can be ready when called on with 14 pts on 5-of-5 shooting against Cleveland in the playoffs. Defense and finding a consistent path to minutes remain the challenge.

Trayce Jackson-Davis

Jackson-Davis played only 17 games for Toronto after arriving from Golden State, averaging 5.0 mpg. His rim running, rebounding and interior finishing remain his main strengths.
Heading into Year 4, he’ll need to prove those skills can earn
