Last place never felt so good. In a weekend of sensory overload at #rennsportreunion the experiences were overwhelming. This #996gt3rs had its first outing in 10 years here this weekend.

Years ago I was able to crew for a number of the Porsche GT teams, worked with some of the best drivers in the world, factory engineers, the whole 9. The endless work, all nighters, podiums, championships, and plenty of disappointments were all had.

Having a chance to be the custodian of a piece of your personal history is truly a mind twist. Getting to drive it amongst some of the drivers you worked with years ago, a bigger mind twist. Getting to do this at #rennsportreunion is truly very special. Thank you to @zwart @plmotorsport @gpsmarc @bgbmotorsportsgroup @spencer_pumpelly for the consideration and support. Thank you to @lufteknic boys and girls who spent a ton of time on the prep.

**for the record, flacht cup at rennsport is the heavy metal class, big power, big car count, and big experience. This was trial by fire for me, drove this car for the first time Thursday. Had never driven on slicks, and had not driven Laguna Seca. Wow! Look forward to more. Thank you for all the compliments on the car, it was well received by the fans who remember the Hazardous Sports/Zip Racing team.

**nerd info: 1 of 20 cars produced by Porsche for the 2003 FIA/ACO season worldwide. The last year for a synchro H-pattern gearbox, one piece doors, and the introduction of the lightweight cooling system. The Hazardous Sports cars were the only 996R to run the OZ one piece Mg wheels. This car was only used in one season IMSA and returned to Laguna Seca for the first time since 2003 in the American LeMans Series. Andy Lally @andylallyracing and Spencer Pumpelly @spencer_pumpelly were the pilots of this car in period.

A couple of the OG members of the G&W Motorsports team. We were mostly kids that worked hard and had some fun times. This weekend has been more about the friends and team mates that we haven’t seen in years, some cases decades...

**for the nerds, this was the last 993 RSR/gt2 bare chassis to leave the factory. It first appeared at mid-Ohio in 1999 in RSR trim, piloted by @dlaw544. It later was converted to GT2 and went on to win a championship. It was built from the ground up by us. Need to find the photos in the crates of the build and the adventures. It was the second to last air-cooled car to podium at the #24hoursofdaytona. Air-cooled forever.

After a lifetime of @porsche memories, and my livelihood helping everyone with their Porsche dreams the stand out moments are few remembered. Today was a truly incredible moment, returning this 356 to California where it raced in the late 50s. Thank you to all involved that have made this happen. A jewel of a car.
