We thought it was time to get to know the faces behind 3Goose Media, although I'm sure you know us already 🤭

Namreem Sonday, author and founder of Life & Times of the Fireflies, brings professional marketing expertise from working with major brands. She is able to unpack branding fundamentals, audience psychology, and consistency, offering clear frameworks writers can adapt to their own platforms.

Fazila Cariem, author of Her Peace at War and an upcoming title, Janelle and the Cape Town Apocalypse, shares the implementation side. She focuses on applying strategy in real time, lessons learned, and how intentional choices translated into visible social media growth for her work.

Faziela Harris, author of an urban fantasy duology, brings a creative lens as both writer and traditional anime artist. She focuses on designing scroll-stopping content for cover reveals, reviews, reels, and launches while staying authentic.

Currently the National Government allocates 30℅ of the sports, arts and culture budget towards Arts and Culture. That's R1.8B of spend.

How is this regulated, what are the drivers to increase budget allocation and which party has the strongest policies on the importance of the Arts?

Do we believe its important? Why?
Consider the impact of arts and the trajectory of the state by ignoring the same.
Art is an important form of human expression that is a gateway to healing. For a nation steeped in a history of trauma, the prioritized focus has always been physical and financial survival. But in Maslow's hierarchy of needs we never seem to move beyond tier two. What if we dipped into tier three more frequently: love and belonging?
Art gets us there.
And the impact- healed people heal people. An auto effect on tiers one and two.

My social battery might currently be on one bar, but that doesn’t mean I was going to miss out on the Major Arcana launch!

The venue in Obz (not to be confused with Obz book store 👀) had the perfect amount of character and quirk for a Halloween-themed book launch. Extra points for the venue hire fees supporting the nonprofit organisation @fash_rev_southafrica 😍. Well done @page_turners.za 🥰

The panel was a slay – as is usually the case with @miraripress launches. Intelligent. Insightful. Entertaining. The authors @sitara.png @rhettsinnema @andrea_leriche knocked it out of the park. And @garyhartleysa had me racing home to read his story after he teased us with his reading 😍. Now I’m almost done reading all eight stories and I have no idea what to do with myself once I finish.

It was lovely bumping into all the familiar faces. One thing about Mirari Press is that it’s starting to feel like family ♥️. Congratulations once again to all the authors @nerinedorman @saltwaterpoolboy @brettrexb 🎉 by @3goosemedia

3️⃣ hours. 3️⃣ publishing voices. 3️⃣ Goose.

And one common thread that kept coming through: ✨ Show up and be yourself. ✨

Our recent marketing workshop for authors brought writers and industry experts together to talk about getting our stories into readers’ hands and finding the confidence to be seen ourselves.

A huge thank you to @mars.duplessis, publisher at @miraripress; @helencoetz, publicist at @panmacmillansa; and Stev @theshortofthings, publisher at @kwela_publishing, for sharing your insights so generously.

And to every writer who showed up, asked questions and shared their struggles: you’re part of this conversation too.

Let’s keep it lit 🔥. Cos a reader for one is a reader for all 😉 by @3goosemedia

Halloween is upon us-& while we contemplate scary things, doing them unarguably leads to a path of growth. Because even a perceived 'fail' is not a complete loss: it provides DATA.
And in this age of competing with machines, our vulnerability and willingness to show up is what will make us stand out.

Authors, artists, creatives-I think we're gonna make it😉 by @3goosemedia

And just like that, 3Goose Media has officially hosted its first workshop!

Marketing for Authors Who Hate Marketing brought together authors, industry insights, and a whole lot of learning, featuring guest speakers from two publishing houses and a publicist.

Missed it? Don’t stress, julle. Keep your eyes peeled for more beat drops on what went down, the gems we picked up, and the lessons worth sharing.

Because at 3Goose Media, we believe in building a space by authors, for authors, with authors.

And this is only the beginning.

We are so excited to be the chosen marketing partner for Janelle and the Cape Town Apocalypse. A huge shout out to @faz_scribblez for entrusting us with her baby.

Pre-order link is in our bio!

Set in current day Cape Town, a taxi gaatchie Janelle and her business partner, a taxi driver called Playstation, must navigate the surreal landscape of a completely deserted City of Cape Town. They journey from the Cape Flats to Cape Town International airport and discover a few people. Together with these strangers they must figure out how to solve the mystery of the missing people of the city, return them to Cape Town unharmed and avoid being detected by colorful bird-like gadgets that move in unison via a cloud that somehow causes the disappearance of people.

The characters include (besides Janelle and Playstation) a morose disillusioned teenager, Liya and her Islamically devout father Akbar, twenty year old twin brothers Shaun who brings the brawn and Vaughan who is the Brainman to his brother’s muscle show, Mona who is a living meme of every influencer that has ever posted on social media, Sizwe; a hot shot trader who wants to distance himself as far as possible from his rural roots and Delilah who can relate more to trees than her fellow human beings.
The story is written true to the coloured vernacular of Cape Town and while the plot is sci-fi, in many ways the plot is the background to the necessary growth arc many of these characters have to endure to become better versions of themselves.

We asked Marius from Mirari Press: what’s one thing authors expect publishers to do that they still need to do themselves?

His take? TALK ABOUT IT 🎉. You need to be your number one champion.

You’ve heard it straight from the publisher – And we couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

There are still slots available at our workshop Marketing for Authors Who Hate Marketing. Come with questions - leave with answers, a vision and a dream execution strategy.
