Farewell to Sgt Clint Parkinson

Friday 30 September 2026 marked the end of an era for Sgt Clint Parkinson as he completed his final day with the Regiment after more than twenty years of dedicated service.

To mark the occasion, members of the Welfare Department joined Clint for a farewell walk along the River Tyne, following the route from Prudhoe to Wylam and back. After working up an appetite, the group rounded off the morning in fitting style with a well-earned full English breakfast.

As Clint closes the door on more than two decades of military service, he now looks forward to the next chapter of his life. Settling down in Newcastle, he will begin a new venture in the civilian world by establishing his own locksmith business.

Everyone in the Regiment wishes Clint every success and happiness for the future and the very best of luck with his new business. After more than twenty years of service, it is a thoroughly well-earned new beginning.

Particular congratulations to the men's A team coming in second Major Unit. A strong showing from Maj Douglas, WO1 Baron and Sgt Pugh! 🥈

 📅 Saturday 5 June 2027 📍 Albemarle Barracks

On Saturday 5 June 2027, 3 RHA will mark a significant occasion in the Regiment’s history with a Regimental Parade, followed by the RED CYPHER FESTIVAL.
The event will provide an opportunity for serving personnel, veterans, families and the wider Regimental community to come together for a day and evening of entertainment, heritage and social activities.

4 SP from the regiment competed at the 1 (UK) Division 'First to the Fight' SCA competition, hosted at Dalton Barracks near Abingdon.

The competition comprised of a 2km run, deadlifts, pull-ups and press-ups. 3 RHA put in a strong showing against 24 other units from across the division.

The competition aims to create a winning culture within 1 (UK) Division that contributes to operational effectiveness. There is no second place in war.

Preparation meets readiness - Ex CYPHER PROTECT.

Today, soldiers from across the Regiment completed Ex CYPHER PROTECT, pushing through rigorous Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) training.

After mastering the low-level essentials, troops spent 6 grueling hours in full CBRN gear, tackling intense, real-world operational scenarios, from radios to vehicle recovery.

A demanding day for all who took part, but a crucial part of training, to ensure our teams are ready to maintain the fight in the most testing and complex of conditions.

⛳ **RA GOLF AUTUMN CHAMPIONSHIPS | RIPON CITY GC** 🏆

A great day of golf at @rcgc1908 , kindly hosted by the club and organised by @4_regt_ra , led by L Snape.

With 32 players from across Regular and Reserve units, the Championships brought together a fantastic mix of abilities — including several players who have only taken up golf this year. The golf was competitive throughout, with some excellent performances across the various competitions.

A huge thank you to 3RHA, 4RA, 5RA, 7 PARA RHA, 26RA, 32RA, 47RA, 103RA, 105RA and 1 DRSX for supporting the event and releasing players to attend. 👏

Prizes were presented by 4RA Regt 2IC / RAGS Vice Chair, J Musgrove, rounding off a brilliant day of competition and camaraderie.

Special thanks also to RA Sport for their continued support in reducing costs and helping make attendance possible for our golfers.

Congratulations to all the winners and runners-up — and well done to everyone who played, particularly those new to the game. 👏🏌️‍♂️

Last week, the Regiment had the pleasure of hosting Councillor Richard Wearmouth, Deputy Leader of Northumberland County Council and the Member for Morpeth Kirkhill.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the work of our soldiers, highlight the Regiment’s contribution to national defence, and discuss the important and continued partnership between the military and the local community.

The Regiment thanks him for his time and continued support.
