Today we celebrated our official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony together with the Chamber of Commerce @avillechamber and Alderman Andre Vasquez @40thward .

We are incredibly grateful to every family, student, coach, friend, and community member who has helped make this possible. You are the reason this space has become something truly special — a place to learn, grow, challenge ourselves, support one another, and create lasting memories.

On Saturday, October 17th, join the Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) for the opening program of a special exhibit: America's Last WWII Concentration Camp: Crystal City.

This exhibit tells the story of the Crystal City Family Internment Camp in Texas, where Japanese, German, and Italian immigrants and their children in Latin American countries were incarcerated during World War II. Through individual family narratives, it explores the journeys of Japanese American, German American, and Latin American internees before and after the war. At its core, the exhibit raises important questions about citizenship, ethnicity, and belonging during a time of domestic and international conflict.

The opening program will feature the documentary film Then Becoming Now, which follows three Japanese Americans once incarcerated at Crystal City, and their views on current immigration issues in the U.S., followed by a panel discussion with children of Japanese Peruvian incarceration survivors.

Starting in October 2026, @chi.water.dwm will install 2,500 feet of new water main, including lead service line replacement, in Ravenswood on the following blocks:

📍Oakley Ave from W Ainslie to W Argyle
📍Argyle St: From N Oakley Ave to N Bell Ave
📍Claremont Ave: From W Ainslie to 140 feet south of the intersection
📍Lawrence Ave: From N Oakley Ave to N Leavitt
📍Leavitt St: From W Lawrence to 135 feet north of the intersection
📍Hamilton Ave: From W Lawrence Ave to 170 feet north of the intersection
📍Argyle St: From N Hoyne to N Hamilton
📍Damen Ave: From W Ainslie to 260 feet north of the intersection
