Another way of checking on the substance your records are made with is by the labels. Due to the way a Styrene record is made the labels are a sticker put on after, whilst the vinyl record labels are pressed into the disc at its pressing time. Obviously there's a few that are different to this, like the painted on labels of UK/Europe injection mould vinyl, and apparently some Styrene were painted on but I have yet to see one even on the Internet lol. Oh and some demo vinyl have sticker labels but they are normally quite obvious vinyl if the light test is used (see other post about that).

Always worth knowing what your 45's are made of, and yes styrene is short for polystyrene! It is worth noting that they can look fabulous or mint but sound absolutely awful, and the wrong deck set-up/stylus shape can screw them up easier than a vinyl record will be. If I can get a vinyl version of a 45 (UK, Canada, Europe pressings) then I will, but sometimes you have to get what you get especially when a record only comes as a styrene press. #45digger #45rpm #styrene #knowledge #recordcollecting by @45digger

Not a normal picture from us, but it has been 22 years since I was at this awesome venue. So it was time to celebrate Sean and Roger down at London's 100 Club and the young one came along. Good to see friends and hear some great music. Much respect to all who came along and enjoyed it. by @45digger

I ended up doing just the one set last night due to my health unfortunately. But it was mighty enjoyable and I played this lot, not in this order. #45digger #soul45s #60ssoul #vinyl #djset by @45digger

So, next Wednesday night I will hopefully be venturing out to DJ once again, it has been some years 😆. Green Onions are doing three nights in a row, and I will be flinging choon pon' decks on the first night.
Free to get in, and me playing some 6t's soul and R&B music on that lovely vinyl, what more could you want for an October Wednesday night 😆 🤣.
So they are there Wed/Thurs/Friday next week from 7pm.
Thanks to Dave Crabtree for asking us to go play, much appreciated.
