Plot twist: Yesterday’s drop started a conversation.

Yesterday we shared that 49% of students in the 4 Learning School Remix Network feel “very valued” as creators and students. A few of you (rightly) asked: what about the rest of the spectrum?

So here’s the fuller cut:

→ 84% feel valued or VERY valued as a creator and a student
→ 93% feel welcome in their 4 Learning classroom
→ 61% say the studio is the reason they show up to school

That’s not engagement. That’s belonging — and belonging is what makes every other outcome possible.

This year’s RemixEd Conference was one for the books!

Rooted in Creativity as Civic Power, we gathered to learn, imagine, and explore how remixing education can become a powerful force for social change.

Deep gratitude to the @hsraminnesota , @4learningedu , @davidtcellis , Tony , @lastnamelipset , @tdj6899 , and everyone who helped bring this experience to life.

A special congratulations to my sister in the movement @iammarthadiaz , on receiving the RemixEd Award for her commitment to creativity, justice, and transformative practices. So well deserved!

From experiencing Prince’s creative sanctuary at @officialpaisleypark (truly one of the most unique musical experiences of my life!) to hearing the deeply personal leadership journeys of @colossaleducator , Martha, and TC, this gathering was a reminder of the power of creativity, storytelling, and community.

Grateful to share and learn from the work of Martha, the Hip-Hop Education Round Table, @pinqy.ring , the @hiphopeducationcenter & our deep dive, Remixing the Blueprint: Co-Creating the National Hip-Hop Education Guidelines & Index, alongside educators and practitioners imagining new possibilities for teaching and learning.

And of course shoutout to @mickey.breeze for the vibes and @tdj6899 for being the illest emcee and organizer to rock the mic!

Thankful for these sacred spaces to connect, create, and collectively remix what education can be for our young people.
