Living Moons by 4mula ~ Graptopetalum paraguayense; Point of Origin, México. Age - 11 years. Naturalized to its fullest extend, this Living Moon is in residence in Center City, Philadelphia hanging from a roofdeck arbor under full sun exposure. It is wintered in from November through March. Each year, Summer energy adds length, volume and crosswise branches. It hangs among a living gallery of other Living Moons introduced over the decade, but this one is among the originals once established in 2015. While it was beautiful from the beginning, only time can render an impact as impactful as this. ~ ~ This weekend…A full range of Living Moons will be at The Burlington County Farm market this Saturday, alongside 4mula’s organic potting studio that offers a gallery of choices in artisan hypertufa where you can design and make a masterpiece of your own. Fourteen years, and tens of thousands of Living Ornaments. This year, I’ll keep this ambitious little classic for myself. Thank you, New York City, for being a place where I can reach so many people from all walks of life. I’m proud to say that a living ornament resides in most every country on the map, in places I can only dream to be able to visit one day. Thank you to the tens of thousands of people I’ve met who’ve supported this project, reciprocated deeply in its concept, given loving homes to the living ornaments, and brought new life to a living idea. It is this exchange that always serves to re-inspire what comes the following year. I return home with an abundance of new perspectives from all of you that I am eager to bring to life. On this final day in NYC, the concept of living is all the more realized. Until next time, Merry Christmas and all the best for a 2026 that is as alive as ever.
