September is National Rice Month 🌾
And around here, we’ve been celebrating the best way we know how: in the fields.
Harvest season is underway in Louisiana, and these days are filled with combines moving through the fields, trucks headed to the mill and another crop making its way from our farms to tables across the country.
For our family, rice is more than what we grow. It’s our livelihood, our legacy and something we’re proud to share with families everywhere.
So all month long, we’re celebrating the farmers, the fields and every grain that brings us together.

And just like that, August comes to a close on the farm. 🌾
This month has been all about watching, waiting and preparing. The rice has continued to mature, water has been drained from the fields and our farmers have kept a close eye on the weather as each field gets closer to its turn for harvest.
No two fields are ever quite on the same schedule. Some are ready sooner, while others need a little more time, carrying harvest well into September and beyond.

If Mother Nature cooperates, September will bring plenty of combines, long days and busy fields.

Back-to-school season calls for a few easy recipes up your sleeve! 🍚✨
Patchez is sharing one of her favorites: Air Fryer Sushi Bites made with 4Sisters Sushi Rice. Crispy, savory, a little spicy, and easy to make in the air fryer, they’re a fun snack for busy afternoons, an easy appetizer for friends, and one we’ll definitely be bringing along into football season. 🏈

Air Fryer Sushi Bites

2 cups cooked 4Sisters Sushi Rice
1 cup finely chopped shrimp (crab or tuna can be substituted)
3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. sriracha
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil
3 oz. cream cheese, softened

Mix all ingredients together and roll into 1-inch balls. Place about an inch apart in a preheated air fryer and cook at 400°F for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly so they hold together, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Makes about 24 bites.

What a difference a month can make on the farm!
Throughout the month of July, our rice plants have changed so much. Now, we can see the grains beginning to fill as we get closer and closer to harvest.
There’s still a little growing left to do, but we’re officially in the final stretch. Swipe through for a look at where the crop is today and what comes next.

As the new school year approaches, we’re coming together to support the Boys & Girls Club of North Louisiana’s Bastrop Club and help local kids have a safe place to learn, grow, and belong after school.

Yesterday, the Great American State Fair came to a close, and we’re so grateful to have been part of it.
