Painting black figures with energy, malice, and joyful sparks in their eyes. My work is vibrant, featuring flashy colors that primarily include the primary colors. I enjoy creating contrast and use vibrancy to emphasize my characters. This makes my work unique. by @4ur3lia

Vibrant and bold afro portraits.

I’ve always believed art can transform a space not only with color, but with the stories and emotions it brings into our everyday lives.

Meet The Radiant One, The Rebel Poet, and The Dreamer: three screen prints celebrating Black beauty, individuality, and the freedom to express who we are.

It can be a perfect gift for a friend or family member.

Bold colors, expressive characters, and a fresh way of seeing the world.

Which one speaks to you most? ✨

How do I describe my work? My artistic style fuses contemporary figurative art with bold colors, graphic shapes, and influences from Pop Art and Afrofuturism. I use vibrant portraits to showcase Black identity, individuality, and cultural diversity, characterized by saturated colors, strong contrasts, intricate patterns, and expressive compositions. Drawing from my multicultural background, I examine themes like identity, belonging, representation, and the interplay between tradition and modernity. My work aims to create powerful, joyful, and unapologetic images of Black people, inviting viewers to envision a world where they are celebrated and empowered.

This painting is almost a self-portrait, inspired by my summer walks through the charming streets of Odense, Denmark, near the Hans Christian Andersen Museum. I fell in love with the little houses surrounded by flowers and climbing plants, and imagined myself sitting peacefully on one of their doorsteps, wearing a fabulous, colorful outfit.

I turned that scene into my own little fantasy, where a fashionable Black woman brings a different presence to a traditional Danish setting. I love creating images that challenge what we’re used to seeing, where different identities can exist naturally in familiar places. Perhaps this is my own playful vision of belonging, full of color, joy, and a little mischief.

🌸 This original painting is available for purchase. DM me for details and worldwide shipping.

Work in progress, and the consciousness of making art won't ever be replaced by AI. Artists are essential for humankind, especially when it's created by hands. by @4ur3lia

A shift is occurring in my practice as I explore new compositions and new energy sources. I am painting scenes of divinity, new cosmos, and a mystical universe inspired by Afro-Futurism.

The final image is just the tip of the iceberg; beneath it is a long process of work, listening to audiobooks and paying close attention to brushstrokes and color combinations and how they communicate.

Painting is a bodily experience; moving and sculpting the imagery with my body, sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly. I aim to create another piece and perhaps develop a whole series.
