Next stop on the 500 Days in the Wild road trip goes to HAMILTON @lidocinemahamilton on Friday OCT.23.

Come meet Director Dianne Whelan, the first person to do this epic 24000km land and water trail.
She has also made films on Mt. Everest and the North Pole.

While touring Aotearoa- New Zealand for 8 weeks releasing @500daysinthewild in cinemas across the country, we live and travel in a 4X4 Toyota pick up truck with a slide on camper. @madcampersnz.
Better then any hotel room! I can't stand being in a room where the windows don't open. Feel like a bird in a cage. Way better to travel like a turtle 🐢 with our home on our backs. This allows us to cook most of our meals and eat in a healthier and more affordable way. But more importantly it also lets us find moments to go hiking and explore the country while working. We try and do daily detours for an hour or two of hiking enroute to our next destination.
New Zealand has great campgrounds when you need to plug in, and DOC ( Department of Conservation) campgrounds off grid.
They also have strict rules against just camping wherever you want to protect the environment. 🙏🏼
Yesterday we left the South Island and now begin the cinema release in the North island. Grateful for the wild spaces and the kind faces we encounter every day. And grateful for our turtle shell we call home for these 8 weeks. 🫶🏽🫶✨ Find the turtle in the photo!
