Prints are available for purchase. Please DM me for more details.　LOST & FOUND — Dissolving Imagery, Anchoring Memory
The title of this exhibition, "LOST & FOUND," stems from the artist's approach to a vast archive of personal video footage recorded over the years, long buried deep within hard drives. To capture and freeze a single frame from video—a medium meant to be fluidly consumed and lost to time—is an attempt to rescue a "lost item" and bring it to light.
Because these frames originate from digital video, they lack the clean, high-definition resolution demanded by contemporary photographic prints. Yet, within this "lack of resolution," the artist discovered the essential gradations of human memory, natural fading, and his own visual roots.
The artist’s visual lineage is rooted in the DIY ethos of hardcore punk and the raw, gritty texture of gig flyers churned out by convenience store copiers. As a counter-aesthetic to the manicured world of high-resolution imagery, he collaborated with fellow studio-mate and artist Ikeda to employ the "Thinner Print" (solvent transfer) technique.
The process is raw and impulsive: melting the toner from a standard office or convenience store copy with a solvent, then manually rubbing it onto paper. This physical act breeds the scratches, bleeds, and organic irregularities unique to printmaking. Through the medium of thinner, the electronic, digital image is translated into a vivid, tactile "physical noise," merging seamlessly with the hazy, fragmented nature of memory.
Furthermore, this body of work intentionally adopts a visual approach where images are printed "small" against a vast, expansive paper surface. Floating within wide margins of negative space, these small images reflect the distance we feel when peering at the scattered fragments of our own past. by @503.ken

I have a small show going on right now, and I’ve made a film about my friend @travmsk, whom I’ve been working with. Prints from the footage are available (please check my other post, as I couldn't include images with the video)..LOST & FOUND — Dissolving Imagery, Anchoring Memory

LOST &　FOUND

This weekend I’ll be taking part in IWATAYA “Life with Art 2025 Autumn” in Fukuoka, Japan — a cultural program where the historic department store hosts exhibitions, performances, and citywide events that connect people with art in everyday life.

IWATAYA has long been known for presenting cultural events that blend contemporary art with music, design, and the rhythms of city life. This year’s program is linked with Music City Tenjin and Art Fair Asia Fukuoka, creating a space where art and culture overlap in ways that feel both everyday and extraordinary.

My contribution features large-scale paintings rooted in the story of commerce — exploring how physical retail, signage, and space are transformed in the digital age.

And for those in Fukuoka — I’ll also be live-painting September 27 & 28 at IWATAYA’s Main Building on the ground level, and showing new paintings in the 7th Floor Event Hall.
