Proudly introducing the exhibiting designers part of the special 6th edition of @romanianjewelryweek ✨1 - 5th October 2025 ✨The National Library of Romania, Bucharest In focus today - @557ttttttt - UK Re-Jade is an experimental jewellery collection that reimagines the symbolic architecture of Chinese jade culture through the lens of sustainability and cultural revision. Using recycled glass and silver, the collection reconstructs traditional ceremonial forms—not to replicate, but to rethink their value through gestures of fragility, layering, and transformation. Rather than treating glass as a substitute, it becomes an intentional medium—capable of holding memory, ritual, and resistance. Each piece arises from a non-linear, intuitive process of material listening and embodied response, where trace, fracture, and touch become acts of cultural transcription. Re-Jade challenges conventional hierarchies of material and meaning, proposing a future where craft, heritage, and ecology converge in renewed harmony. by @557ttttttt

Glassborn (2025) by Tingyan Luo @557ttttttt Glassborn reimagines one of the most iconic materials in Chinese culture—jade—through recycled glass and silver filigree craftsmanship. Instead of relying on the rarity of natural jade, the series proposes an ethical and sustainable alternative that speaks to contemporary concerns around material responsibility and cultural reinvention. The formal language of these pieces draws inspiration from historical jade artifacts such as jade belt hooks and jade burial suits, once used to symbolize power, status, and spiritual protection. These cultural symbols are not merely referenced but deconstructed and regenerated—creating a new visual grammar rooted in transparency, fragility, and transformation. The contrast between the delicacy of glass and the solemnity of traditional jade invites new emotional and aesthetic interpretations. Silver filigree does more than encase the glass—it becomes a woven language of memory, linking ancestral ritual with contemporary material practice. Each piece explores a renewed expression of value: not one built on material opulence, but on symbolic meaning, cultural memory, and sustainable ethics. OOO Exhibition 🗓 15 – 18 July 2025 🎉 Private View: 15 July, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM 📍 Alsolike Gallery 16 Chance Street, London E2 7JB Participating Artist Tingyan Luo This series resists the notion of material as a vessel for human intention. Made from recycled glass and reclaimed silver, the pieces reconstruct archetypal jade forms—such as gold-threaded burial suits and belt hooks—not to commemorate or symbolize, but simply to exist. Fractures, cooling marks, and self-forming structures are preserved and even emphasized, allowing the object to emerge through its own agency. Filigree does not decorate, but negotiates balance. Fragility is not disguised—it asserts presence. These works are not created for adornment. They reject functionality and meaning as imposed by the human gaze, instead echoing their own histories, energy, and logic. They do not speak to us; they resonate in the spaces where interpretation fails. by @557ttttttt
