🔥🔥 Day 2 of Session 2 of the @wbecnydmv SAGE Advice 2026 program is a wrap, and my brain is full in the best way💡‼️
.
Myself and my fellow WBEs enjoyed two full days at the @capitalone building in the city.
.
💰💰Session two was all about digging into business finances, best practices, and building relationships with bankers. As a certified B Corp, I especially enjoyed the session on ESG and sustainability ♻️
.
The best part of the program is the relationships. We’re building real connections with fellow WBEs, our Capital One Business Resource Partners (BRPs), instructors, program leads, and WBEC SAGE alums. And yes, Scorgee, our program mascot, sat on my desk all day today 😂😂
.
SAGE (Strategies to Advance and Grow Enterprises), in partnership with Capital One, gives women business leaders dedicated time to focus on strategy, strengthen operations, and plan for growth. We’re back in November to keep building our One Page Business Plans with @lhamiltoncpa and prepare our pitch decks.

🔥🔥 As a member of the @hamdenchamber, I get to join my chamber networking group biweekly to learn more about their businesses.

Today, @fawnluuv of @mfonogbeborstatefarmagency was our guest speaker, and she shared so many great tips about business and personal insurance. We all learned so much!!

Last week, @eversourceenergy hosted a Supplier Engagement Summit to invite businesses and resource partners to its campus and learn more about doing business with Eversource.
.
It was great seeing my colleagues from the @mccforct, @newenglandbgc, and the MBDA. I also met a few new business owners I look forward to meeting with.
.
As a current Eversource supplier, I had an opportunity to participate in the matchmaker and have an in-depth conversation with my purchasing team. I was so excited to meet my Sourcing Agent, Galina!! I am forever grateful for all of Galina’s support as an Eversource supplier! Thank you!!

👩🏽‍💻👩🏽‍💼 This week, I attended the @newenglandbgc’s Business Opportunity Conference and Awards Celebration in Boston.
.
Formerly known as the Greater New England Minority Supplier Developed Council (GNEMSDC), and the agency providing minority business enterprise (MBE) certification, NEBGC has evolved into a business resource for socially economically disadvantaged businesses (SEDI).
.
The MBE certification continues to exist, and is now managed nationally through the @nmsdchq.
.
During the conference, we were introduced to the new NEBGC President, Robert Johnson, provided recommendations for the organization’s new initiatives, and participated in a reverse business matchmaker, where corporate buyers visited tables of small business owners. Some of the buyers included @mgmspringfield, @staples, @cvshealth, @bluecrossma, @eversourceenergy, and many others.
.
It was great reconnecting with many of our colleagues, establishing new relationships, and showcasing @628digitaldesign.
