DAYTON, have you tried Persian food yet?! 🇮🇷😍

I had the pleasure of getting a taste of Persia right here in the Gem City with Sama Plate & Palette, and what an experience! 🤤❤️

Sama is bringing traditional Persian cuisine, desserts, and her beautiful artistry to the Dayton community, and I love seeing our city embrace more cultures, flavors, and experiences!

🍽️ Here’s a little taste of what she offers:

✨ Ghormeh Sabzi – A slow-cooked Persian herb stew with tender beef, beans, and dried Persian limes.

✨ Gheymeh Bademjan – A flavorful beef and eggplant stew with yellow split peas, saffron, and aromatic spices.

✨ Kashk-e Bademjan – A rich eggplant dish with caramelized onions, garlic, mint, and tangy kashk.

✨ Mirza Ghasemi – Smoky roasted eggplant with tomatoes and garlic.

✨ Kuku Sabzi – A traditional Persian herb frittata made with fresh herbs, eggs, and spices.

✨ Shirazi Salad – A refreshing mix of cucumber, tomato, onion, herbs, and lemon dressing.

And let’s not forget the tahdig, that delicious crispy rice! 😍

Today is a full-circle moment. 🥔🎉

In June 2024, Martina Scott walked into 6888 Kitchen with Boss Potatoes — loaded baked potatoes built from a story of resilience. Martina lost her job during the pandemic and started cooking from home to provide for her family. That hustle became a business.

There were ups and downs. Blood, sweat, and tears. But Martina stayed persistent, stayed consistent, and never gave up.

Today, she's officially opening her own space at West Social Tap & Table — our first 6888 Kitchen graduate to move into her own storefront.

When Charlynda, Jamaica, and I started this journey, our vision was simple: build a launch pad for entrepreneurs working hard to provide for their families through food, who just needed guidance, mentorship, education, and resources to get there. We believed that 2-3 years in our space could give someone enough room to learn, grow, and go out on their own.

Martina is proof of concept. God makes no mistakes, and we are so incredibly proud of her.
