༄ 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐂 ༄
A live recording from our last retreat in April >> L!nk in bi0

This improvisation was done on the last evening where we , as a small group , entered into a free form jam session both on the Liveset and in the Dance .

We had all been silent for three days and our focus had been on how we connect to the creative source through silence, movement and music .

This is how the music came through ♾️

Next Retreat >> 14th- 19th October 2026

The myth of ‘free’ comes with a price no one wants to name.
@69db_liveset says it without filters: musicians, DJs, artists, technicians… they’re the ones who paid.
And today there’s only one real question:
what do you put into the circle?
Love, money, ecstasy, ego… or community?
What value do you truly give to the underground?

Exclusive interview produced by @unmasked_london, in collaboration with @_dance.culture_, on the day of the Unmasked 10th Anniversary event.
An intimate, raw and honest moment with 69db, one of the symbols of free rave culture and founding members of the legendary Spiral Tribe sound system (@sp23official) 🏴‍☠️

DARK METAZ x YEE. @darkmetaz @yee.___hk

"Long before the rise of hard, hypnotic dance music as a dominant genre, there was 69db."

— Dekmantel

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 23h
HK$150 (link in bio) / HK$250 (door)

@69db_liveset

A 1990s Hardteck and Tribe innovator, 69db has pushed live improvised sets since 1991. Founding Spiral Tribe and R-Zac, he shaped underground rave culture and co-founded Network 23.

In 2023, 69db sold out four Sound Metaphors EPs alongside a PRSPCT double EP and box set. He and Crystal Distortion launched the "23 Records or Bust!" series reissuing their 90s catalog, selling out nine releases in under a year.

In 2024, he debuted Wave Arising with Kynsie Serre, blending ambient, tribal, experimental, and hard techno. Praised for fusing hard tribal techno with dub techniques, Resident Advisor named it a Dekmantel 2024 standout performance.

69db remains a force in electronic music, continuing to evolve his sound and inspire audiences worldwide.

69db - Source Dub Connection // 2026

As a pioneer of the freeparty scene, 69db doesn't need further introduction. Mastering his own channeling of absolute improvisation and experimentation with magnetizing livesets, 69db marks the label's debut on wax, translating that same restless spirit into four tracks that move fluidly between driving tribal energy and deeper, more atmospheric territory.

A2 - 69db // In All Of Us

After he performed live at our first label night, @69db_liveset chose to release with HYPERWAVES and we knew we had to preserve this one on wax.

Making it our debut vinyl release: Source Dub Connection by 69db. A channeling of restless spirit and ritual movement, pressed into four tracks that drift between tribal pulse and deeper, atmospheric terrain. Crafted by the master of improvisation himself.

An imprint of a hidden world. A living archive, carried forward.

Reconnecting to the roots , to the grassroots , somewhere inland .
@ouroboros.ssss is this necessary and elemental understanding of going back to something we’ve lost somewhere along the way .

A human gathering , when summer ends . Crafted with intention and care, simple yet meaningful .With no surprise , the resonance was there. We knew it .

Future Ancestry .
Where nature, people, music and dance are not separate but intertwine & shape one another .

Our intuition guides us to reclaim & rebuild circles & rituals .

We def. need more spaces like that .
So , a huge Thanks to the Ouroboros crew for their trust & for creating this space . And Big Big shout-out to everyone who joined the experience on the dance floor ♾️

We’ve uploaded Woody92 and 69db’s 7.5-hour recording at essaim (2 May 2026) on SoundCloud (link in bio).

A few words from 69db:

“The music you hear in this mix is 100% improvised. Woody 92 and I have only jammed before, at Garage Noord after Dekmantel 2024. No practice or contact in-between.

We chose to work like this because we trust in taking risks and pushing the bar as high as possible, to create a pure channel for the creative source to pass. This does not make us special: everyone has this potential if they trust, reach in and practice!

We have been conditioned by a culture that does not want us to realize our potential, pushing us to worship the cult of personality.

I feel that the Afro American and LGBTQ+ pioneers of Chicago and Detroit gave us a present, one often whitewashed and abused in modern rave culture. Such is the nature of this present we in fact, through our ignorance, have mostly not properly benefitted from it. Used properly and with respect, it unlocks the possibility to decolonize and “un-patriarch” our minds through a self-disciplined connection to what John Coltrane called “A Love Supreme.”

My wish to take risks and be true to the music is my way of saying stop to this madness. To take back credibility, we must respect the source of this culture and use improvisation as our main weapon against AI in music and social media DJs.

I send love and respect to our Afro American and LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. I will not let you down.

If you think this is exaggerated, read the text on the back of “Seawolf” by Underground Resistance from World Power Alliance!

Enough of this broken rave machine. We are here to take it back and respect the source.

Rave culture is what we ALL make it. We all have one vote. When you cross the line and go to events that finance genocide and the war machine, you send the signal that this is what we want. We should be careful how we vote!

Boycott the sellouts! Support the independents! Don’t be afraid to let go of the old to rebuild. Grass roots is the way today.

Love and respect to all at essaim for making this night possible and curating an independent space where they put the music before the ego!
