DARK METAZ & YEE. invite 69db [LIVE]! @darkmetaz @yee.___hk @69db_liveset A key innovator in the 1990s Hardteck and Tribe scenes, 69db has been pushing the boundaries of live improvised sets since 1991. As a founding member of Spiral Tribe and R-Zac, he played a pivotal role in shaping underground rave culture and co-founded Network 23, a label that defined the sound of the free party movement. Today, Network 23 continues to inspire a new generation of hard techno producers. The renewed interest in 90s hard techno is reflected in recent record sales. In 2023 alone, 69db released four EPs on Berlin’s Sound Metaphors and a double EP, along with a five-record box set, on Rotterdam’s PRSPCT label—all of which sold out. Responding to this demand, he and his R-Zac partner, Crystal Distortion, launched the “23 Records or Bust!” series, reissuing 23 records from their 90s catalog. The first nine releases sold out in under a year, proving the timeless appeal of their work. In early 2024, 69db debuted Rooted Sky under his new project, Wave Arising, in collaboration with movement specialist Kynsie Serre. This project blends ambient, tribal, experimental, and hard techno, further expanding his live improvisational approach. The Wave Arising liveset by 69db, praised for its fusion of hard tribal techno with dub techniques, has already garnered critical acclaim, with Resident Advisor naming it one of the standout performances at Dekmantel 2024. 69db remains a force in electronic music, continuing to evolve his sound and inspire audiences worldwide. presents CRYSTAL DISTORSION Dj - Producer - Performer Acid techno - Hardtek Crystal Distortion is a British electronic music composer, producer, and performer who was born in the UK and is based in France. He joined the Spiral Tribe collective and sound system in 1991 and was a key figure in the « Rave ON » movement—championing « free music for free people »—before co-founding the SP23 collective with former members in 2011. He is recognized as a pioneer of live, improvised techno performed using hardware (such as drum machines and synthesizers) rather than vinyl, thereby shaping the sound of European free parties. He is also a member of R-Zac (or R-Zac23), a collaborative project with 69db. R-Zac produced numerous EPs, including « Apocalyptic Heroes », one of Spiral Tribe’s hard-techno anthems. Since 1991, Crystal Distortion has explored live musical experimentation. He has amassed a vast catalog of releases under various aliases and signed with Rising High Records while still a teenager. As part of Earth Leakage Trip, he contributed to the very first release on the Moving Shadow label—the *Psychotronic EP*—which featured the classic track « No Idea. » His arrival in the Spiral Tribe Sound System had a significant impact on the collective’s sonic direction. He is best known for his improvised live sets. Performing as Crystal Distortion, as well as under the aliases Labrat and Gearshifter, Simon Carter has maintained a prolific output, releasing music on labels such as Rising High Records. His work spans a range of electronic genres, including techno, tribe, free tekno, and drum and bass. He defies categorization; his performances alternate between flashes of controlled chaos and daring reinterpretations of stylistic conventions, blending raw, pulsating energy with a touch of surrealism. Today, a Crystal Distortion live set is a unique experience: balancing controlled disorder and infectious grooves, he steers dancefloors off the beaten path and into unexpected sonic landscapes. @crystaldee23 @69db_liveset @sp23official Design by (]{) - @in_klammern - 2026 #spiraltribe #sp23 #freeparty #raveculture #technoparty

I don’t like to stack my DJing calendar with too many gigs these days tbh. I love the process of taking a bit of time out in between sets to dig deep, head out and support other DJs/events where I can and just jam out and give my ears a proper good listen and also to relax. With that said, some really exciting things to look forward to. Those events where we get everyone together and just have a silly old time on the dfloor. @dropsound_official anni this weekend and I’m buzzing to spin some d&b/jungle (my once a year set of these sorts) with my fellow bruski @dj_tuesday at our fave warehouse. Then next Friday a real special b2b with @jfung___ one of the dons of HK I’ve been looking up to for a while. Back at trusty @mihnclub and with the @yee.___hk crew bringing over @69db_liveset 🙌 will be digging real deep in some dubby / tekkers for that one And all roads leading up to @yee.___hk turns 2 on the 20th November. Last year was a madders and we packed out our former favourite home of @slaphongkong 🥹 can’t wait guys this’ll be a real treat 👊 Hit up @jcbaradas for profile pics! 📸
