TONIGHT! More jazz guitars than you can shake a stick at! Well, you can shake your sticks at us, (and I'm sure Craig will), but you can't stop us from playing jazz! Ab Menon, Daven Tillinghast, EJ Crocker, Phil Lawson, Tarik Bentlemsani, Vince Brown with Steve Luceno & Nick Rawson in the bass chair and Craig Cootsona on drums! And yes all of the guitarists will be onstage at the same time trading solos! A true "Too Much is Not Enough" event! First class is a success! We covered the fundamentals of music theory: 12 notes, intervals, the major scale, minor scale, diatonic chords. All focused on helping our students write songs and express themselves.

This session of “Write a song using music theory” will be taught by ab Menon. I know ab from our time together teaching music at blue bear school of music in SF. He is an incredibly talented guitarist, and a very kind and clear communicator. I think you’ll love learning with him.

Here’s his official bio:
ab Menon started playing music at a young age and graduated from Sonoma State University with a B.M. in Jazz Studies and Applied Music before continuing on to complete his M.M. in Jazz Studies at University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He has taught music for over a decade.

ab has worked in numerous songwriter-focused bands, shepherding songs from initial vision to full band arrangements. He combines his deep guitar chops, knowledge of theory, and songwriting experience with a friendly and approachable teaching style, making him a perfect teacher for both experienced songwriters and those new to the craft.
