Fitment check passed ✅

I’ve been working on these BBS RS for a while now. Originally sourced from Japan, split, welded and re-pitched. Now onto the paint and rebuild, this is the best part.

No matter how many sets I build, RS’ are always the most satisfying, so many ways to do them - it is a timeless design.

Has Facebook Marketplace made building cars easier, or impossibly difficult?

With so much access to so many options, it’s easier than ever to go off course. The thrill of chasing down a little treat here and a must have there might be more satisfying than actually screwing cars together.

On the other hand through, upcycling projects and selling parts you don’t need to fund things you do - has never been more simple. One persons abandoned project is another’s new start.

Without it, and cool guys sending links, I’d not have made so much progress with the aircooled projects. But then again, on the other hand - I might have been less distracted to do some others.

Either way, if you find me rummaging in the bins like a Raccoon, it’s because this has become my most passionate sport. by @7.nth

Winter wheels on the Golf GTI might be a signal to some that I’m slowing down. But this is when the real magic happens.

Gimme frost, salt on the roads and some fresh Facebook Marketplace adverts to scalp and I’ll go to work. The Oval Beetle is really ramping up, Corolla is in paint and the other VWs have a clear focus. Can’t wait to cage the Golf, step up tyre sizes and change some bodywork items.

Spring 2027 is going to be the best yet for car projects, I’m so excited to show you what I have cooking. by @7.nth

I sold all my camera gear instantly enjoyed shooting more.

Around 24months ago I started really disliking the burden of carrying around a camera, offloading cards and editing photos.

The same went for video, the chew of it all meant it took a lot of time to edit and create the things I wanted. And even then they missed the mark. I had every GoPro gizmo under the sun, drowning under the weight of little black plastic adaptors.

I hated the bulk of it all. So I decided to sell everything. Piece by piece, going on a diet. First the Sony A7r iii, then all my video stuff, and finally shedding the GRiii.

It felt a bit mad at first - the equipment dictates the enjoyment right? Without the gear you can’t do the thing. Wrong. Just like cars, it’s what you do with them and how you enjoy stuff that matters.

I didn’t realise it at the time, but I’d just repeated what I had done in selling an E92 M3 track car and jumping into a Lupo Sport. This was 100bhp camera gear; a phone, a few DJI bits and a 13 year old CoolPix.

Now - I’m happier than ever taking pictures and creating stuff. Just as and when I like. No schedule, just documenting progress like the old forum days, pure bliss. by @7.nth

Proper good craic at Donny last night with @autofinesse, I always forget what a fun circuit it is. Some really cool cars out, MK7 put up a good fight.

Although it looks fairly stock from the outside - it’s got a tubular front subframe, tubular control arms, AST 5100 Competition dampers, Wavetrac LSD and the all important 440bhp @racinglineperformance engine upgrade that is harder to spot. I feel like I should do a build breakdown video and recap, because there’s a lot of very cool ingredients.

I love this little red hatchback and I’m gearing up for another round of upgrades over winter to go even quicker next year 📈 taken in Donington Park Circuit by @7.nth

Fresh @tarox_brakes on the MK7 GTI

I’ve been running the TAROX 8 pot big brake kit for around 12 months and the Corsa pad has worked fantastically and lasted very well - but now it’s time to try Enduro Plus.

Full brake spec:

- TAROX 8 Pot front big brake kit with F2000 2pc discs

Alright, full works on the Jetta it is then.

Thanks to @vw_oldtimer_treffen - everything has escalated significantly. FB marketplace is not safe.

I’ve been collecting parts and scheming for a while. But if this is the last MK2 I build after owning 20 or so, it’s got to be good. Here’s a couple of clues. by @7.nth
