Vengaworld Wembley was a full 360 car experience.

Cruised down to the meet in a machine I’d not driven in two years, loving every minute of it.

Hundreds of great cars and people, in a unique setting. Then rolling out across London to grab a bagel. Spur of the moment cruising, windows open, at night. It doesn’t get better than that.

Rounded off with a 1am breakdown and crazy tow mission. That’s all bases covered.

I might have cooked another 16v but I’m so glad I took the Corolla for a kicking at Santa Pod.

It’s needed some love for a little while and this is the shove I need to give it a bit more power and a fresh engine. I don’t think this one has a lot of compression anymore.

Big stinking red bus appreciation post 🧱

I moan about this van a LOT, because it’s been an absolutely hellish experience so far in building it - we’re hugely over-budget and still rectifying things that should have been done right the first time around…BUT, I have just had such a fantastic weekend in it at Gritt Fest with the @syncromun boys, I can’t help but love it.

Everyones van had an issue of some sort and the relentless rain made fixing them a bit of a challenge, but in the grand scheme of things - it was only a stuck diff lock that really stopped the red van moving forward. It even rescued Sam’s Delica mid-flowing river.

I’m on the way to a really nice setup now, the diesel heater had it piping hot at 28 degrees inside with no insulation and the @ctekcharging DC-DC setup is absolutely awesome.

I purposefully tried to flatten the starter and leisure battery this weekend, and the power management is absolutely spot on. Lights on all the time, everything on charge, fridge flat out cooling beers and music on all the time. I don’t even have to think about power consumption any more.

I may have ripped the roof gutters off, bent a wheel and flattened the exhaust however, but that is par for the course of rockcrawling in a delivery van. Syncros are awesome, the people who own them - even better.

The last few months or so has been nuts.

Stuffed the Corolla into a hedge then fixed it. Drove to Poland, shot with ID mag, blew the MK7 up then fixed it, exhibited at FOS, then met a lovely dog on set filming for a cool series I’m excited to see aired. Somewhere in between all that I bought a two door Jetta too.

I’ve got some catching up to do, with projects, work, YouTube and people; but next it’s time to shake the MK7s new engine down at Cadwell with the @garagemidnight lads. Wish me luck, because I’m really not sure how good that new engine is - one way to find out!

Crazy where car life can take you. Most sane people would call it a waste of time.

We battle, we share parts and we pull each other out of hedges. That’s what Corolla people do.

AE86s are best served on the ragged edge, and sometimes beyond it. To crash with a smile is to live a full life, there is a reason the rear screen says ‘greet bad fortune with good grace’.

It’s entirely my fault. The Corolla performance usage bar is glowing at 110% though, which is what it’s all about. I believe the brain to machine interlink failed, which must be a wiring issue. Not surprising considering both are almost 40 years old.

This time last week I was trying to get the thing running. Now it’s completed a track day and now the annual Corolla spring day, and what a day! TY @corolla_brotherhood 🖤

This car is a little demon, I love Corollas.

A couple of weeks of life in one dump. It’s fun doing these because every now and then it’s fun to show more ‘real’ pictures from just being out and about.

1) JZX100 now has a pair of BRIDE seats, one bucket one BRIX 1.5. Undecided on the brows.

2) Moved a lovely Ford Fairlane for a friend. Didn’t start and brakes siezed on so almost had a hernia getting it off.

3) Got sent the perfect place that I’ll never be able to obtain. If you own this please message me.

4) Picked up a T4 Syncro because too many 4x4s is never enough.

5) Drove the MX-5 to Wales and immediately regretted putting a bucket seat in it. Need to have a think about this setup.

6) I love TE37s

7) T3 Syncro is almost done, it is looking incredible and I am very excited.

8) It’s always fun seeing where @garagemidnight pops up. The gang is far and wide. It’s like the Masons but for cars.

9) Illegal stuff

10) Can’t knock the NHS, they seriously saved my bacon (again).

This 190 E has had an amazing journey to become the vehicular star of @needforspeed unbound.

We’ve detailed it all; the build and the wonderfully talented people who made it possible on @thespeedhunters dot com.

It’s been interesting keeping it all a secret while trying to create an authentic, real life version of the car. Some of the conversations were amusing to look back on. ‘Ok, so what is this for?’…

It’s only been possible thanks to a huge amount of trust from the team at EA/Criterion, plus a highly skilled and trustworthy team on the ground. The car is a result of so many one-off items, craftspeople and brilliant interactions. Too many to list here, but you can read about the majority of them in the feature.

The process has reaffirmed that car people are the most reliable and fantastic on planet earth. With a couple of those bad mfers on your side, you stand a chance of conjuring just about anything out of thin air.

Car culture is the greatest.

Here’s a little onboard from the E30.

245bhp, open ITBs, a 6 speed sequential and my mother in the passenger seat.
I’m convinced she’s an omen, whenever I take her out I break something. However, maybe that is the best way to test stuff…

The car is with the team @regalautosport at the moment getting it ready for the Nürburgring. It’s going to be interesting to see how the car performs out there, hope I can do it justice!

I have been hoarding a lot of period correct and NLA tuning parts for the 996. I think I’m about ready to take the next steps in uncorking the 3.6 flat-six.
Old guy story time; I’ve been around 996s for a long time. If you zoom in on pic 5, you’ll spot my face behind the wheel of a Supercharged EVOMS demo car in 2006 while on a trip to Arizona with @chrisstewart100. The first 996 I sat in.
Since then I’ve experienced all kinds of Porsches, and of the 996 models, it’s those high-powered @regalautosport tuned Turbos that stick in my mind.
Fast forward 16 years and I’m excited to build mine with all manner if EVOMS goodies. Lots of them have been unavailable for many years. Some are new and others were found used in the USA, shipped in and refurbished with the help of friends.
The nostalgia is unrivalled. Especially that unopened hood emblem.
I’ve just got to get hold of GT2 clutch parts and a pair of turbos to blow hard enough and we’re off. 18 year old me would be very happy. Let’s get 700bhp.

You know what this means right? New beginnings for the sequential E30.
Fresh, rust free and expertly prepared shell from @firesafetydave - sad to see the end of his project but the silver lining is; the shell lives on with mine.
Massive thanks to @ben_scenemedia, @josh_horam and @_alexoc01 for the muscle to get it onto the bed. Excited to do this one justice.
