I survived my first blizzard 🏂! what a pleasure it is to share some moments from my recent @thelotradio set with you all! I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to share my love of music and dancing on this platform and I hope that those of you who got to watch felt my joy! I also want to give a huge shoutout to all my friends in the booth with me that day - to be nearly 3,000 miles from my home and still be in room of close friends (from home) warmed my heart beyond measure. Thank you @smmmmurray @nicolestarflower , @jelrgreen , @sylvjasworld and @gaunt.viking for being with me and grounding me during a very special moment in time. Happy Summer, friends 🌞 I hope this note finds you well! Just wanted to check in say what’s up and let you know what I’ve got going on in the next couple of weeks!

First and foremost I wanted to share that I have a really significant birthday coming up at the end of the month! As I write this I am in the last weeks of my 20s and am super excited to finally turn 30 on the 31st of July.

What a journey it has been… growing up I never really pondered what it would be like to turn 30, I had no idea what I’d look like, how my body would feel, what types of activites I would do for fun or anything of that sort. I’m happy to share that as I quickly approach this culturally significant age threshold I’m excited and really happy about the person I’ve grown (and continue to grow) into.

I’m so appreciative of the friends I’ve made and the community I’ve built and all the amazing role models I have in my life.

Because my birthday is the last day of the month I firmly decided this year to celebrate everyday of July, so I’ve been pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and try different activities that have interested me in the past but have been historically too nervous to try.

As always, I’m so thankful for all the love you continuously share with me and wanted to invite you to a couple of things I’ve got going on the rest of the month and into August 💗

7/20 PRIDE (On the Rooftop)
7/26 @force_placement_ (LA) @7issolve (PDX) @arel.xc (SEA) at @kremwerk
7/27 SILICON SOUL (@siliconradio X @soulhouseportland ) at @sonder.listeningbar
8/3 @canyonvibration

Also - I know that there is extreme financial burden on huge swathes of the population and this can make attending events a challenge for many. As many of you know, music and community gathering is more than about partying, I really see it as a tool for deep healing and as an opportunity to process pain and other emotions. That being said, I never want finances to be a burden to someone accessing an event I’m playing so if you are interested in attending any of these events but are concerned about cost please DM and we will get that resolved.

Be well - with love ❤️ taken in Portland, Oregon by @7issolve

Howdy y’all and happy winter ❄️ I’m super excited to share a clip I put together in collaboration with @blacktechnomatters , I’m so honored to be included in their #JAMUARY festivities and I highly encourage you to check out all the other amazing artists doing their thing!

Due to a recent move I have been on a bit of a production hiatus while I’ve been getting my studio space back together, I’m happy to say that I’m finally feeling good about where the space is at and I’ve been able to get some good experimentation 🧪 sessions in, with more to come soon!

For those of you curious, I’m running a DAWless setup here (except for the audio recording)

The primary MIDI clock for this setup is my @weareelektron Digitakt (Mark 1), this device has 8 tracks and is doing most of the heavy lifting here.

From this I’m running MIDI directly into my @behringer Edge which is honestly one of the most fun synth-y devices I’ve ever played around with (and quite affordable for what it does)

I’m then taking the MIDI out from my Edge directly into my @rolandglobal TR8 drum machine, which is so powerful I could have done this jam with just it - but today it had a VERY specific role, that sexy high hat ride.

The audio from the Edge and TR8 are both being ran directly into the Digitakt and the master out of the Digitakt is going into my audio interface… the rest is history!

Thank you so much for listening, I hope you enjoyed and I look forward to seeing you on a dance floor soon 🪩🕺🏾

Huge one incoming!
Slide through for DJ DISSOLVE's artist statement about his third residency night of 2026. See you in the swirl...

More about Erika:

Erika dreams on the cellular level, or perhaps of transdimensional intelligences moving through strange patterns on celestial objects, working towards a mysterious goal. Her connection to the dreamworld becomes concrete in her approach to music, simultaneously so solid and yet so ethereal. Erika still finds time to accomplish many things in her waking hours, such as being a member of Ectomorph and Circle of Live, co-conspirator of Detroit's Interdimensional Transmissions record label, DJing and making music with her pet machines. Her freeform streaming radio station erika.net was one of the very first iTunes presets, running 24x7 for 17 years from 1999 to 2016. Prior to that, Erika was very involved in WCBN-FM Ann Arbor, as a freeform and jazz DJ, and Program Director.
The daughter of a famed scientist and already running a well known BBS from her bedroom by the time she was 13, Erika is no stranger to expressing her ideas through technology. In 1997 she was handed a TR-606 and asked to join Ectomorph, and has since become an electronic musician of the highest order, focusing on analog synthesis, with live hardware sequencing that allows transformation over time and a deep depth of tone. taken in Watershed PDX by @7issolve

Samewave Radio is turning 4!

Excited to introduce our next dj of the night, the amazing @7issolve, an artist and community organizer whose work aims to celebrate and honor dance music as an age-old tradition of rhythm, storytelling, community building, and resistance. Centering the dance floor as a sacred space, his practice draws connections and inspiration from the earliest human gatherings along the Willamette Valley to the drum-born traditions carried across the Atlantic by the African diaspora, and the many sonic lineages that have emerged from them.

Whether it’s the New York’s disco renaissance or the birth of House in Chicago, the rugged minimalism of Techno in Detroit or its journey across the ocean to Berlin and back to Portland, he remains enthralled by the magic of the music and its ability to connect people across time and space.

Whether it’s on the turntables, sitting at a mixing board or behind the scenes organizing, his goal remains the same, to make the call to the dance floor irresistible.

Join us this Friday August 28th at the impeccable @process.pdx space as we celebrate another year of community radio and the people who keep the wheels turning.

I’m so excited to gather with you all for the second installment of my residency night where I have the pleasure of welcoming Patrice Scott, Gazin, and Aaron Davis for a night of deep grooves.

I was looking through my youtube history and saw that I first heard my first Patrice Scott Track “Movin In” in September of 2021 (definitely listen if you haven’t heard it), and at that point I had never played in a club and was still really in the early phases of developing my taste as a DJ. Fast forward to 2026, Patrice’s deep and sensual sound still resonates as deeply as it did for me the first time I heard him.

If this is your first time learning about him, I’m including a few of my favorite records:

The Detroit Upright EP - Sistrum Recordings (2016)
Powder Fresh - Second Hand Records (2018)
Reborn Goodness - Sounds Of The City (2018)
Solitude - Sistrum Recordings (2025)

As for Aaron Davis and Gazin, they are two absolutely wonderful human beings who also happen to be absolute turntable maestros and I’m so excited to bring them both under a single roof.

As always thank you to the Process team for believing in my vision of cultivating the dancefloor as a place of community healing and for providing me with the support to realize this vision. And of course, my continual gratitude goes out to all those reading this and and who plan to attend or have attended in the past, you are what makes these gatherings so special.

I look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
-DD

More about Patrice Scott:

Patrice Scott’s roots in the Detroit music scene go a long way back. At the age of just 11 he lived down the road from early DJ group Direct Drive and it was at these block parties that Scott decided that this is what he wanted to do.

Patrice’s music reflects much of the rich sound palette of deep house and techno from the 1990’s but combines this with a sense of constant innovation which depends less on trends and fashions and more on Scott’s own passion for seeking out an otherworldliness in music.

@7issolve is playing @canyonvibration an intimate two-night dance music campout that takes place on private ranch land in Tygh Valley, Oregon on August 7-9th, 2026.

DJ Dissolve is a 4th-generation Portlander, producer, DJ, and co-founder of the community collective @soulhouseportland . His work is rooted in an understanding of dance music as an ancient tradition one that has allowed us to carry forward rituals of rhythm, storytelling, and collective healing across generations.

His artistic practice centers the dance floor as a sacred place, a space where joy, creativity, and resistance have been celebrated for millennia. For him, the act of communal dance is more than expression; it is a ritual that provides a direct link to the people who have come before us and to those who will come after.

Inspired by music’s power to heal, connect, and cultivate understanding, he draws from the diverse sonics, movements, and spirits that have emanated from the earliest human settlements in the Willamette Valley to the drum-born traditions carried across the Atlantic by the African diaspora, and all the long legacy of sonic currents that have flowed beside and between them.

He views his time on earth as a continuation of the age-old tradition of rhythm keeping, and through every set seeks to honor the selectors, dancers, and spirit guides who have come before him.

At the center of his practice is a commitment to creating spaces where people feel safe, cared for, and connected to one another. His sets serve as both offering and an invitation, an expression of gratitude to those who have helped shaped the path, and an invitation to those seeking grounding, guidance, and community.

With every gathering, he aims to create a container where movement, self-reflection, and imagination emerge in harmony.

Hi friends! I hope you’re doing well / it’s been awhile since I’ve given an update on here, I feel like I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed preparing for summer time 🌞 and with a few major life events sprinkled in I’ve been pretty head down lately!

That being said, I’m popping on here to let you know about two really fun options for celebrating Juneteenth tomorrow. I’ll be playing some wine-sipping techno @favoriteneighbors before heading over to process to host a night @process.pdx celebrating that Black roots of techno with @samewaveradio and @blacktechnomatters

What I’ve found is that because it has been only been recently formalized (and federalized) as a holiday a lot of people don’t seem to know how to celebrate or potentially have anxiety around taking up space.

Note: it is totally possible to attend culturally specific events without consuming space, if you’re not welcome in space it’s up to the organizers to clearly communicate that well in advance!

So here is my encouragement to all of you out there, if you have the day off and don’t know what to do do. First and foremost, take a moment and READ about the history of the date, I’ve come to find that many, including black folks don’t actually know the history of the day and I think understanding the history is FOUNDATIONAL to properly celebrating. 🙌🏾

Once you’ve read about the history I do encourage you to tap into one of the many amazing events likely taking place somewhere around you. I know Portland has MULTIPLE and if that’s too intimidating, I encourage you to go out of your way to support black owned businesses/artists/etc.

The liberation, escape and resistance of Black people from the violence and dehumanization of slavery is something we should all want to celebrate.

Sending love to you all! by @7issolve

DISCO HEALS THE SOUL 🪩🕺🏾

Hey y’all, I hope this note finds you well. I’m dropping in here just to share my excitement about @twirl.pdx this Sunday. For those of you that know me well you know that it is one of my favorite parties in the city - it is curated thoughtfully, it always sounds great, and most importantly people come to DANCE!

I also wanted to share a fairly significant breakthrough about myself as an artist. When I started DJ’ing and producing back in 2020 I set out with the goal of playing an hour long set with 100% original tracks (and I wanted every single track to hit hard) while I’m still pretty far from this goal, I’m happy to share that putting together my crate for Twirl reminded me that I am making good progress. While I’m not 100% sure I’ll play all 11 tracks - there are high odds that this Twirl could be the space where I set a personal record for self-produced tracks played live - and I’m really excited about that!

I also wanted to give a shoutout to @sissy__ada who I’ve now shared a stage with more than once and I just wanted to honor and appreciate your energy, sweetness, and talent as a dancer.

To Sissy, that “moment” you and I said I was having back in February of 2023 just keeps on moment-ing, and I’m so thankful for that!

The last slide is a shot of me at, what I like to call, “spicy” Twirl. Back in July of last year where the venue’s AC broke and @djshishiiii worked us out! Thank you @tomofportland for the action shot!

Thank you all for your continuous support, it really means a lot and I do not take it for granted - I appreciate you joining me on this journey and I look forward to seeing you on the dance floor soon!

Is this thing on!? Hope y’all enjoy this little snippet of some techno grooves I’ve been working on! Now that I’ve got this setup established I’m really feeling less inclined to make music on the computer ! This setup is still in beta-testing phase but I’m feeling really good about the depth of sounds I’ve been able to conjure with it! I hope you enjoy!

Happy to answer any questions you might have about what’s going on here! Happy Honda Days! ❄️ taken in Portland, Oregon by @7issolve
