POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thanks again for all the birthday love and to everyone who came out to experience the final day of I Heard The City Breathe at the @beverlyartcenter. Shoutout to @rooks_looks and @sxucougars for the opportunity again. This year has been a wild ride, but it has also opened the door to a new chapter in my artistic journey.

For a long time, I kept music and art at a distance. Not because I didn’t love them, but because expressing myself that honestly carried a weight I wasn’t always ready to hold. I often found myself moving around the edges of the work instead of fully stepping into it.

But this project changed that. I Heard The City Breathe literally breathed life back into me — pun fully intended. It reminded me why storytelling matters, why music heals, and why our stories deserve to be heard.

This week, I Heard The City Breathe will be dropping on all DSPs. Stay tuned as the inspiration, backstory, visuals, and music continue to unfold. This is only the beginning. More is definitely on the way.

We had an amazing time at the Museum of Science and Industry for the Science Works and College Expo, where we had the opportunity to give the next generation a hands-on look into the world of music production! 🎹🎤 From exploring sounds to learning how music comes together, it was all about creativity, education, and showing these young minds that the possibilities are LIMITLESS! 🚀💯

Big thanks to the Museum of Science & Industry who made this experience possible! ❤️🎶 #MusicProduction #YouthEmpowerment #STEMEducation #CommunityImpact #isproacademy taken in Griffin Museum of Science and Industry by @7metrix1

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to experience “I Heard The City Breathe” live, and all I can say is... wow.

@7metrix1 what you created alongside such an amazing group of artists, musicians, and collaborators was truly inspiring. It was so much more than a performance, it was a celebration of community, collaboration, creativity, and everything that makes Chicago so special.

Thank you for reminding us that when people come together with purpose, art has the power to bring a city to life.

👏🏾 Congratulations to everyone who made this unforgettable experience possible.

🎬 NEW MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE: “COLORS” 🔥

The next chapter of I Heard The City Breathe is here.

“Colors” features Sycosis and 7METRIX, reflecting the struggles of the streetwise in inner-city Chicago and the trappings that come with that reality.

This release highlights Sycosis’ take on the song. In his verse, he paints a raw picture of survival, temptation, street pressure, and the moments where a person can feel trapped between faith, fate, and the choices the environment pushes them toward. His words speak to the darkness that can surround the inner city — from hard knocks and alley memories to the constant pull of pain, motives, and survival instincts.

Sycosis brings grit, honesty, and vivid storytelling to “Colors,” giving listeners a deeper look at what it means to navigate the city while fighting not to be consumed by it.

I HEARD THE CITY BREATHE LIVE was a success.

I’m still taking in what this moment meant.

First and foremost, thank you to the Beverly Arts Center for allowing us to bring I Heard The City Breathe Live to your theater and giving this vision a home. We truly appreciate the opportunity.

This journey started with the music creation first — the writing, producing, recording, and building of the EP. From there, it expanded into music business workshops, giving artists and students the opportunity to learn more about the industry, ownership, and how to build sustainable careers in music.

Along the way, this project continued to grow through sessions, workshops, rehearsals, the art show, and the release party — all leading up to this live performance.

A special thank you to Brian Gorman of the @Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum, Scott Fetters of 2112 Creative Industries Incubator, Tonya Howell of Intonation Music, Camila Vick and Aramis Pates of Creation Sound Studios for allowing us to hold workshops, music production/recording sessions, and practices in your spaces. Your support helped make this journey possible.

Thank you to all of the artists, ISPro Academy students, and producers who helped bring this EP to life. Your creativity, energy, and commitment made this project what it is.

And thank you to everyone who attended, supported, shared, and believed in this journey. Your presence meant the world to me. To see this vision come full circle in a live setting was something I’ll never forget.

This was bigger than a show.
This was community.
This was collaboration.
This was growth.
This was Chicago.

And it truly meant the world to me to do this.

Thank you all.
