🎶✨ Making music, sparking creativity, and inspiring the next generation! 🙌🏾🎧

We had an amazing time at the Museum of Science and Industry for the Science Works and College Expo, where we had the opportunity to give the next generation a hands-on look into the world of music production! 🎹🎤 From exploring sounds to learning how music comes together, it was all about creativity, education, and showing these young minds that the possibilities are LIMITLESS! 🚀💯

Big thanks to the Museum of Science & Industry who made this experience possible! ❤️🎶 #MusicProduction #YouthEmpowerment #STEMEducation #CommunityImpact #isproacademy taken in Griffin Museum of Science and Industry by @isproacademy

🏙️🎬 NEW MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE: “CITY” 🏙️🔥

The next chapter of I Heard The City Breathe is here.

“City” features artists SaINT and Mykah Estelle, bringing emotion, reflection, and honesty to a song that speaks directly to the youth experience in the inner city. This song captures the moment when young people begin to truly see the world around them — the beauty, the pressure, the contradictions, the struggle, and the questions that come with growing up in the city.

“City” is a reflection of how youth start to perceive the ups and downs of the inner city. They begin to question the reality around them, trying to understand what they see, what they feel, and what it means to survive, dream, and grow in a place that can be both inspiring and challenging.

The “City” music video gives you another powerful look into the world of I Heard The City Breathe — a project rooted in Chicago, Black life, creative expression, and the voices of artists telling their stories through music and film.

And we’re bringing this entire experience to the stage.

Join us for 7METRIX Presents: I Heard The City Breathe LIVE at the Beverly Arts Center — a night of live music, storytelling, film, and community. Watch the video, listen to the EP, and make sure you’re in the room for the live concert.

✨🎬 NEW MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE: “SHINING” ✨🔥

The next chapter of I Heard The City Breathe is here.

“Shining” features hip-hop artists 7k Cjay and 5onny, bringing youthful energy, confidence, and feel-good summertime vibes to the project. This song captures the essence of youth — the fun, the movement, the joy, and the unforgettable moments that make Summertime Chicago feel alive.

We’re also excited to introduce 7k Cjay, one of the talented students of ISPro Academy, as one of the featured artists on “Shining.” In upcoming content, he speaks on his experience being part of the project, his creative process, and the meaning behind his verse. His contribution brings a fresh, authentic voice to the song and represents the power of young artists telling their own stories.

The “Shining” music video gives you another vibrant look into the world of I Heard The City Breathe — a project rooted in Chicago, Black life, creative expression, and the voices of artists telling their stories through music and film.

And we’re bringing this entire experience to the stage.

We're highlighting Featured Artists Brian Sykes and Marlon King of @isproacademy , who you can expect to see at our Scoring For Chicago summer benefit on Thursday!

ISPro Academy is a Chicago-based, non-profit educational organization that empowers young aspiring musicians and producers (typically ages 14–40). It offers hands-on training in music production, audio engineering, sound design, and the music business.

Co-founded by Brian Sykes and Marlon King, the academy hosts recurring programs at local institutions like the Hyde Park Art Center. For example, they host the 10-week "Sonic Futures" program, which provides eligible youth with stipends, transportation support, and the opportunity to perform and mix music using specialized spatial audio systems. The organization is dedicated to equipping the next generation of creatives with industry-ready skills, software proficiency (like Ableton and Max/MSP), and royalty education.

The exhibition will be on view April 6 through May 1, but I would especially love for you to join me for the reception and experience the heart of this project in person.
