Troy Over is a 5’10” guard from Burlington High School in Kansas who brings pace, control, and a pass-first mentality to the offensive end. Uses changes of speed and direction to create separation, maintaining an eyes-up handle that allows him to read help defenders and deliver the ball to teammates as the defense collapses. Shows court vision when getting downhill, turning penetration into opportunities for himself and others. His perimeter shooting gives him the ability to stretch defenses and attack closeouts, while his body control helps him gather and pursue finishes in traffic. by @94ftexposure

LAST CALL | RUN Showcase Evaluations

Closing this one out with the final six.

Going through 20+ players from one event takes some time, but I wanted to give each player a real evaluation instead of rushing content out just to be first.

This last group had a lot of young talent. Guys who competed, showed real flashes and gave me something to keep an eye on moving forward. Some are more polished than others, but that’s what evaluation is about — seeing where a player is right now while recognizing what he can grow into.

Appreciate @94ftExposure for having a gym full of players worth evaluating, and every player who competed.

That officially wraps my RUN Showcase evaluations. Back to the watchlist. 🎯

Another group from the RUN Showcase.

The more I go back through this event, the more I appreciate the amount of talent that was in the building.

This group had a good mix. Some proven production, some intriguing size and athleticism, some tough guards, and a few guys whose best basketball is clearly still ahead of them.

One thing I try to be intentional about with these evaluations is looking beyond who scored the most points. How do you impact winning? What happens when the ball isn’t in your hands? What skill can you hang your hat on at the next level?

These six all gave me something worth taking note of.

Full evaluations above. More to come.

Jaydin Araujo | 6’0” PG | 2027 | Wichita Southeast (KS)

Araujo is an aggressive, pass-first point guard who plays with a pitbull mentality on both ends of the floor. He consistently looks to create for teammates, but when opportunities open up, he can shift gears and attack downhill with purpose. Araujo is a legitimate three-level scoring threat, capable of finishing at the rim, creating in the midrange, and knocking down perimeter shots. What separates him is the edge he brings defensively—he embraces ball pressure, competes at the point of attack, and plays with a disruptive mindset. His combination of toughness, playmaking, scoring versatility, and defensive intensity gives him the tools to impact winning from the lead-guard position. by @94ftexposure

JJ Flippen | 6'8" | 2028 | Glen Rose HS (TX)

Flippen continues to show noticeable development in both his physical conditioning and overall activity level. The 6'8" 2028 prospect looked leaner and more mobile, which translated into improved speed running the floor and a greater ability to impact possessions in transition. He was more active on both ends, consistently putting himself around the basketball and showing improved effort on second-chance opportunities. On the glass, Flippen did a better job establishing position, using his size and frame to box out rather than relying solely on his height to secure rebounds. His improved mobility also allowed him to cover more ground defensively and become a stronger presence around the paint. Offensively, he showed increased comfort playing through contact and giving guards a reliable interior target. The combination of his size, improving conditioning, rebounding presence and increased motor makes Flippen an intriguing 2028 prospect whose development is trending in the right direction. by @94ftexposure

Only four on this one, but all four gave me something worth writing about.

This whole event was a reminder of why you have to actually get in the gym. Rankings, stats and clips can point you in a direction, but watching how a player competes, communicates, makes decisions and impacts possessions tells you a lot more.

Found some new names, got a better look at some guys already on my radar, and walked away with a deeper watchlist than I came in with.

Appreciate @94ftExposure for putting together a gym worth evaluating.

That wraps the RUN Showcase. On to the next gym.

Jaylen Phillips-Grey | 2027 | Wichita, KS
Phillips-Grey is a physical, aggressive 2027 prospect who plays with an edge around the basket. He is a pitbull at the rim, consistently looking to attack the paint, embrace contact and finish with force. His combination of strength, length and mobility allows him to create matchup problems, while his developing perimeter game gives him the versatility to operate away from the basket. He runs the floor well, competes on the glass and brings the type of physical presence that can change possessions. As his handle, perimeter shooting and overall decision-making continue to mature, Phillips-Grey has the tools and upside to become an increasingly intriguing prospect for college programs. by @94ftexposure
