Ninefifty Milano Design Week 2026 In the courtyard of Galleria @rossana_orlandi , ninefifty unveil Greensleeves, an installation designed by @elisaossinostudio consisting of fourteen tables and fifty stools. The project is a sequence of geometric volumes that redraws the space through the rigor of form and the transformation of volcanic matter. The title evokes the famous Renaissance melody, a suggestion that Ossino translates into the design gesture of dressing Etna stone in a vitreous skin. She transforms lava stone, traditionally opaque and heavy, into a vibrant medium. On the surface, the manual application of glazes with a high silica content creates a translucent membrane that does not conceal the porosity of the magma but reveals it beneath a crystalline layer. The palette, explored in four shades of green, stems from research into copper oxides. Reacting with heat, the copper generates iridescent reflections and chiaroscuro transitions that evoke the botanical world while maintaining a mineral root. Each piece is unique, sensitive to the shifts of natural light. The formal balance is achieved through the contrast between the top and the structure. The stone top is countered by a natural iron base, laser-cut and wax-finished, which supports the volcanic material with an essential graphic sign. In a context as dense as Rossana Orlandi’s space, Elisa Ossino’s intervention stands as a meditative and imperturbable moment, of a magnetic consistency, reflecting in a Euclidean manner on the relationship between design, materials, and nature. Ninefifty Milano Design Week 2026 @elisaossinostudio has designed Dagala for ninefifty, a new collection of side tables in glazed lava stone. Unveiled at @door_repubblica 'Il Giardino delle Meraviglie' these objects play on organic shapes and a meticulous tactile exploration, overlaying a craquelé effect onto a stippled glaze to create surfaces that seem to retain a subliminal memory of fire. The color palette features buttery white, matte black, and a dense green fading into gray, from which the grain of the volcanic matter seems to emerge. This family of eight distinct elements consists of unique, signed, and numbered pieces, designed to generate formal resonances and variable geometries that find fulfillment in the encounter between different volumes. The glazing barely brushes the top surface, allowing the raw stone to emerge boldly along the edge's thickness and the lower profile. This material contrast is supported by a stainless steel structure based on triangular geometries, lending a subtle sense of suspension to the entire collection. The Balera console combines a lava stone top with a glazed terracotta cladding. Its compact form and the cadence of the surface evoke DJ consoles, transforming the building's entrance into an active, convivial space. Ninefifty Milano Design Week 2026 Inversi is designed by @margheritarui for Ninefifty and developed for @door_repubblica 'Il Giardino delle Meraviglie' as a system of lava stone tiles pieces in black and white. Inversi collection develops a language based on the interaction of opposites, integrated into a harmonious system. Made from Etna lava stone, the tiles are crafted through an artisanal process combining cutting, natural drying, handapplied glazing and decoration, rooted in the tradition of Caltagirone. The graphic sign is shaped by subtraction, defining positive and negative within a calm, measured composition. Each module is conceived to create continuous patterns, allowing a wide freedom of composition across colors and combinations. Inversi is an open system where material and design meet, translating cultural heritage into a contemporary language. Ninefifty Milano Design Week 2026 Xyphonia is a collection of stools designed by @elisaossinostudio for Ninefifty and developed for @door_repubblica 'Il Giardino delle Meraviglie' as a rigorous system of twenty pieces exclusively in black and white. The project stems from a research into the transformation of volcanic matter through geometry and chromatic subtraction, exploring the expressive potential of Etna stone when paired with vitreous finishes. The core of the work lies in the surface treatment. The lava stone, characterized by its natural porosity, is manually coated with high-silica enamels using a stippled glazing technique. The formal balance of the stool is defined by the sharp contrast between the volume of the top and the rigor of the structure. The seat is supported by a natural iron base, laser-cut and wax-finished—an essential graphic mark that lifts the volcanic material, lending it great visual lightness.
