Eighteen months ago, Matt started a new career path where he was away from the kids and I traveling for all but 3 days a month. It has been hard on all of us. He had to learn how to live alone and do his own laundry (haha), and I had to single mom it - taking care of the kids, dogs, and the house on my own. Matt hated how much he was missing out on back at home & I hated that he was off sightseeing the country without me! Two months ago, he said, "if I found a way for me to keep the career I love, be with the kids and you more & you get to travel more - would you do it" & here we are today... saying "see you later" to our first home and literally the worlds best friends and neighbors . It's bittersweet. We sold, donated, & gave away a majority of our belongings that filled our 1800 sq ft house.. put a few of the most important possessions in a storage unit & signed the house over to a property management company as a rental property. We are currently headed to his job location (1800 miles from PHX) with a 400 sq ft toy hauler in tow as our new home for the next year. Here's to new adventures for the Poland fam. ๐Ÿค by @9millimama

Nine weeks ago, our world started to unravel.

At first, we didn't know what was happening. We just knew something wasn't right with Whiskey. Then, over the next few weeks, we watched as things seemed to get worse and worseโ€”and still, we had no real answers.

Just three weeks into this nightmare, things took a turn so quickly that I wasn't sure how much more my heart could take.

Whiskey girl could hardly use her back legs to get herself up, so I made her a bed on the living room floor.

She had this look in her eyesโ€ฆ a look of immense suffering that I will never forget.

That night, I laid on the floor beside her, bawling, talking to her... and talking to God. I stayed there all night, waiting for Matt to wake up because I didn't know what else to do. I just knew I couldn't stand to watch her suffer.

When he got up, I told him what I was thinkingโ€”that maybe it was time to call our vet and talk about what we could do to make sure she was comfortable and at peace.

He looked at me like I was crazy.

Instead, we packed her up and headed back to the ERโ€”willing to spend our life savings if that's what it took to finally get answers and do everything we possibly could to help her. We did all the tests we could do, got her on some heavy duty meds and waited for the results.

On Matt and my first-date anniversary, we got the absolute worst news we could have possibly received.

It's cancer.

Lymphoma.

My sweet Whiskey girl has been a fighter since day one, and I have no doubt she'll fight for as long as she can against this vile disease.

I never imagined this would ever be a part of our story.

But here we areโ€”truly fighting for life. Living one day at a time and for each, we are immensley grateful.๐Ÿค by @9millimama

New month. New company. New jobsite.

Right before Christmas, Matt started the interview process with a new company. We weren't exactly looking, but it kind of just fell into his lap and the opportunity was too big to pass up.

So what does that mean for us? Another move. God willing, the last one for quite some time. ( unless its for a fun vacation of course) We have to make a stop in Dallas, TX for orientation & on to Tucson, AZ as destination for the jobsite.

Send your positive thoughts, prayers, and good vibes our way as we head out of the frozen tundra toward warm weather & outdoor adventures mid-February! by @9millimama

Just one.
DECEMBER 2025

One single RV spot available within a 60 mile radius of the jobsite. Way out of our budget, but it would have to do. Matt spent the month communiting 55 miles one way. The kids and I spent time hanging with Auntie Stephie baking Christmas cookies, antique shopping, and went on a field trip to Rising Sun Tavern Museum ( built by George Washington's brother around 1760). We attended Auntie Steph's annual Christmas eve party & had a great time catching up and reminiscing with people I havent seen, some, in 15 years. We made gingerbread houses, at home, had a snow day and built "snow bob" aka SpongeBob the snowman. And were all so blessed on Christmas day.

To celebrate my baby boys big 13th birthday, we went axe throwing, which was a new experience for all of us. And so much fun! Before the new year I dragged everyone to the Applebee's that I worked at while i loved in the area, where we ate moderately good food for the sake of nostalgia.

JANUARY 2026

We rang in 2026 by packing up our home for a move day and January 3rd moved to a campground, only 15 miles from Matts jobsite and in our budget! That marks the 3rd move in a 3 month time frame. Needless to say, we were ready for some stability for more than just a few weeks. We quickly realized this wasn't going to be one of our favorite places. Next door to the campground is a lumber yard, which seemingly is running 24 hours a day, were less than 1 mile from a small airport, where daily there are small snd very loud planes flying overhead, and our neighbor behind us has 2 Yorkies whom stay outside in their fenced yard and bark incessantly all day long.

Between the extra noise stimulation, the lack of stability, the cold temps, and a few other things - the kids have been struggling. Lacey the most. Not officially diagnosed, but there are too many signs to deny it, my ADHD neurospicy daughter - needs space to run, play & not sit still for more than 3 seconds at a time. She's at the age of pressing and testing boundaries and find her place in this big ol' world.
Which in turn, has made this a season of extremely difficult parenting.

Twenty twenty-five, I don't even know where to begin. You've certainly been hard on us in many ways and yet, so so good to us in a multitude of others. As this year comes to close, I am grateful for the friendships and community we have in Texas, the growth of our small business, the brand new traveling home we moved into, the time we spent in our home state with family, and the opportunity to spend the holidays near my aunt, cousin & old friends. My one and only New Years resolution for 2025, was to read the Bible cover to cover, each day growing closer to God. Through the good times and the hard times, God has never failed. He has answered so many prayers, and protected us in each and every hard moment. As we enter into 2026, I am looking forward to continue growing in my relationship with God, teaching and watching the kids as they grow in their own personal relationships with God, and all the blessings the new year will bring. Happy New Year! ๐ŸŽ‰ by @9millimama

Five pounds and eight ounces were laid on my chest on Christmas Day, as I sobbed uncontrollably. I felt the most overwhelming feeling of love and trepidation all wrapped up in one. I didn't feel ready to be a mother -only 21 years old - but God knew I needed you! He brought you into this world to be my son and how blessed I am to call you mine. Every Christmas, we get to celebrate you and Jesus together. A wonderful reminder of God's grace and goodness. This year, we celebrate a very special birthday as you officially become a teenager. My tiny baby boy who made me a mama, is now bigger and taller than me. The young man you are growing into is far beyond anything I could have imagined. I pray God continues to guide your steps, protect your heart, and use you as a bright light in this world. I love you Bubba Bear and HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY! ๐Ÿ’™ by @9millimama
