That’s a wrap for the 2026 Factory Gun Nationals ✨ It unfortunately didn’t go as planned, between the dot failure and at least one failure to feed on almost every single stage, but it was still a blast! I feel blessed and thank God every day for the opportunity to compete and be part of such a wonderful community. Thank you to the staff and ROs who work endlessly in the hot weather to make these matches possible. We couldn’t do it without you! Congratulations to @morganrose3gun, @thyngoshooting, and @kay_lane_shooting for the podium finishes! They continue to set the standard for women in this sport. Clearing a Mini Dress Bunch the fabric at the base with your weak hand and lift it over your dominant shoulder to expose the grip. Clearing a Midi or Maxi Dress One-handed works the same way — bunch and lift to your dominant shoulder, adding a knee pop to bring the hem closer if needed. If the fabric is longer or flowier and folds inward one-handed, use both hands to bunch and lift, then release with your dominant hand once clear so you can grip the gun. Tip Keep your hands close to your body as you lift so the fabric travels freely up your back — holding them out front tightens the fabric against your back and makes it harder to clear. by @9mmbrit

Fabric: Why Structure Beats Stretch Look for fabric that isn't stretchy. Fabric with more structure hangs naturally away from the gun instead of clinging to it. Linen and cotton are Brittany's go-to choices: both are natural fibers with minimal stretch, so they resist conforming to the gun's shape. Polyester and spandex blends are her least favorite for the opposite reason: they move with the gun and tighten over it, revealing its outline. Patterns and Textures That Help Conceal Patterns and textures break up the visual outline of a gun, making it harder for the eye to pick out its shape under clothing. Florals and other high-contrast patterns work by breaking up the profile. Textures work by using a three-dimensional surface, like fringe or ruffles, to create shadows and highlights that mask the outline instead. by @9mmbrit

Not every dress conceals well, but the qualities that matter are predictable: silhouette, length, fabric, pattern, and layering. When it comes to silhouette, Brittany's favorite for concealed carry are A-line dress. The gradual widening helps with both concealment and accessibility, since the fabric lifts easily over the hips when you draw. Shift dresses hang straight down from the shoulders with no defined waist, like a t-shirt dress. These can go either way for concealment depending on how thick, thin, or stretchy the fabric is. Body type matters here too. Bodycon dresses are tight and contouring through the body, which makes them a poor choice for concealment in most cases. by @9mmbrit
