PROLOGUE @bluff_bounce | 500T, 250D and 50D 35mm

“We chose 35mm because we believed in capturing every subtle detail of the light within each scene. Film offered us a richness of texture, depth, and tonal range that felt inseparable from the feeling we wanted to express.”

MIRAGE | 500T 16mm

Matheo Fernandes directs ‘Mirage’ for Estúdio Carmine shot on expired 16mm Kodak 500T and processed by Kodak Film Labs in London.

Shot by Cinematographer @nicholasbluff on a single roll of 16mm, the film captures the essence of Estúdio Carmine, a design studio based in Curitiba, Brazil which represents the continuation of five generations of woodworkers and luthiers.

Last week I had the pleasure to be named New Talent in Direction at @ciclopefestival in São Paulo and Bronze as New Director of the Year at @shots_creative Awards in Los Angeles.

This also celebrates independent talents and directors out there. Please don’t wait for the perfect deal or the ideal project to find your way. Get your friends and go after it!!!

We hear a lot of no’s. People saying it's not our time yet, that we are not ready, that we still need to be shaped. Too young, too early, too far from where we should be. That’s the reality. But I chose to move anyway and find the people that trusted me likewise. I own everything to these people. You taught me that we are the ones who dictate the rhythm of our own history.

Thank you so much to the lovely jury at Ciclope and Shots. You’ve been opening doors you can’t even imagine. 💋🌟 by @______matheo

viva a dona maria. viva a lei paulo gustavo. viva o cinema brasileiro!
