POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It TOOK a village..

Community doesn’t just happen. The Latin Academy, NYC…4 years in the making…minus the COVID years. And lets not forget the many years prior envisioning a way where we can celebrate our families, Spanish language and Latino culture…when our native homes in Latin America are so far. :(

Pero lo logramos…little by little, day by day, and we have managed to start to see the results of our passion. Especially on September 13th celebrando nuestros Abuelos.

No venue, no problem. Lo hacemos en mi casa!

No budget, no problem. Que todos traigan un plato de comida.

No DJ, no problem. Que venga papi, el tío, mi hija, la vecina y tocamos algo.

Lluvia!!?? no problem, Dios nos va cuidar.

And behind it all is the love, patience and voluntad that our elders- our abuelos- instilled in us. You dont need much cuando hay buena onda y ganas de disfrutar.

Gracias to our growing little village for coming together for our first annual Dia de los Abuelos…which is an official American holiday “Grandparents Day”, yet I’ve never celebrated it until this year. I think next year we might need a bigger space porque it was lit.

Muchas gracias to our village, our abuelos, our latino homecooyks, our madres that keep the family together, our children who rise our spirits.

And Diosito lindo for stopping the rain just in time, and for all the blessings.

Getting back into my poetry ✍️💭🌱
Sharing my thoughts on how break throughs in your journey bring challenges and self doubt. How inicially those mountains seem so intimidating, yet somehow you look back later… grateful you got through them. 💛 by @___kacia___

I’m so proud to share the work that we all dedicated so much time and energy into creating. Thank you all so much for your patience and for putting so much love into this project.

I have directed multiple films over the past 5 years and it never felt like the right time. The truth is there is never a perfect time for anything. So stop hiding your work! The time is NOW the day is TODAY. Stay tuned to see more clips from the film. Let me know what you think!

These are 100 percent true stories, shame-free, high humor moments that all of us first/second/third generation kids have lived.

Anduvo por luz, oscuridad e incertidumbre
Con preguntas sin respuesta.
Ha cruzado rios, valles y montañas
Acompañada y por su cuenta.
Ella
Madre…
De sonrisa peculiar
Unica e irremplazable.
Dichosa soy de tenerte… otro año mas.

Pt 2 : Cherry Wine - Hozier (2014) 🍷🥀
•
Such a tender melody contrasted by lyrical tragedy, the narrative of a victim facing domestic violence from their beloved. (Male victim in the song/ Women in the music video/ I sang my cover from a women perspective)
•
Ever since I understood the story, the song became that much deeper and worth sharing. There’s always someone among us suffering in silence.. by @___kacia___

Hey, what is the rush ?

Been learning new songs, styling my red hair and loving J.R.R Tolkien. It’s still pretty cold out, I’m taking it slow. 🥀🌫️ taken in Middle-Earth by @___kacia___
