When we were younger, we used to joke that every room in our respective future homes would be a different style—because we could never commit to just one. Or that one day we’d get rich enough to have multiple houses just so we could decorate each one differently.

We were young and naive, but that kind of love, the joy that beauty and art can bring - it never really goes away.

Samaan is our outlet. We love the research, the art, the history. The little details. The marks of time.
And we love learning how things were used—what they meant in someone’s home.

We’ve had a long, winding road to get here. We’re both Punjabi—eldest daughters of immigrants, and immigrants ourselves. We both came to California at eleven, met in high school, and our friendship has always felt a little serendipitous. We spent years chasing film dreams—from Mumbai to low-budget sets—working in costumes and styling wherever we could. With tiny budgets, we thrifted constantly, especially for pieces that felt like they belonged to another time. That’s where our love for vintage really began.

Samaan is our next chapter: a space to curate beautiful, storied objects and build something of our own - and we hope it becomes a little yours too.

Vintage rare, one of a kind sculptural wall sconce, likely 1980s–1990s. Textured frosted art-glass diffuser with dark bronze-finish metal frame and contrasting metal hardware. The original owner was in the lighting-design business in Las Vegas decades ago and this was special ordered from a small, now closed manufacturer. She believes it was made in Italy.

Measurements - 10.5" H and 5.5" W at round mount.

A little Flair for the table. (sorry we had to lol)

Designed by Robert L. Doerfler for 1847 Rogers Bros. / International Silver, Flair debuted in 1955 with a sculptural, asymmetrical form inspired by the movement of a breaking wave.

That same year, Industrial Design magazine featured Flair in its “Products That Sold” section, p. 86 (page 104 of the pdf) - recognizing the pattern as part of a new movement toward more modern and informal American tableware.

Original signed figurative drawing by Joyce Eakins, custom-framed in Italian Roma moulding with UV glass for preservation.

Condition note - a crease in the bottom left corner is present and becomes visible under certain lighting conditions.

A truly stunning hand-painted fabric wall hanging in the spirit of Art Nouveau / Belle Époque. Most likely French or Belgian. Faint artist-signature beginning with "V" near lower left edge. From the estate of a local gallery-owner.
c. Early 20th century.

Vintage condition with age-related wear including faint spotting/marks and edge wear. Please DM for more photos. This piece wears its age beautifully and displays with incredible presence.
