Conversations around African sport are changing—and being in the room matters. 🌍
It was an amazing experience to step into a room where the people are discussing, challenging, and shaping the future of African sport business. Beyond the game itself, there is a whole ecosystem behind sport — media, business, investment, partnerships, technology, branding, and the people building it.
Being part of the SportBiz Africa Forum allowed me to listen, connect, learn, and share perspectives on the ecosystem behind African sport.

As the world celebrates World Intellectual Property Day 2026 happen on 26th, April , we reflect on how creativity and innovation—protected by Intellectual Property rights—continue to keep the world of sports thriving, dynamic, and accessible everywhere.

From live match broadcasts on your screen, trusted sportswear brands, esports experiences, smart wearable tech, to global sporting events—IP is the invisible force shaping value, ownership, and experience in sports. IP & Sports is everywhere.

My journey with the WIPO Academy General Course on Intellectual Property (Rwanda-customized) has deepened my understanding of how IP can drive meaningful transformation in the sports and creative industries.

But IP 2026 feels different—it marks a game-changing shift where creativity, protection, and innovation redefine the future of sports.

This also launches my IP & Sports campaign within the creative industries, focused on awareness, dialogue, and empowering the next generation shaping this space.

In my next carousel, I’ll break down how Intellectual Property drives innovation, athlete branding, and the business of sports from a Rwanda perspective.

At the Mashariki African Film Festival, we continued sharing what we know about immersive storytelling with fellow creatives.

On Day 2, we moved deeper into the technical side of immersive media, taking a step-by-step approach to how 360° video and simulations are actually created.

Together, we broke down the process from understanding the tools, to capturing 360° footage, to structuring immersive scenes in ways that feel intentional and meaningful. We explored both theory and practice, looking at how immersive experiences are designed, not just filmed.

Through live demonstrations, practical exercises, and shared hacks from real-world projects, participants got to see how immersive workflows come together, and how small technical decisions can greatly impact the final experience.

It was a hands-on day full of questions, experimentation, and moments where things started to click. Creatives tested ideas, learned new techniques, and gained confidence in working with tools that once felt complex or out of reach.

Most importantly, Day 2 showed that immersive storytelling is not about perfection, but about understanding the process and giving yourself permission to experiment.

Day by day, skill by skill, we are reminded that when knowledge is shared openly, the creative community grows stronger — together.
