We don’t follow the pace. We set it.

In Barcelona, 94% of women surveyed take safety precautions when running, 19% have experienced harassment while running, and 76% avoid poorly lit or isolated routes.

That’s not freedom of movement. That’s adapting to a city that hasn’t adapted for women.

We believe sport belongs in our streets, in our communities and in the decisions shaping our cities.

And we’re putting that belief into action.

Our weekly sports sessions are back. Led by our all-female team of qualified coaches: @jesbonet_run4you, @moute.venceras, and @hjolsson.

We don’t just want more women in sport. We want to change the conditions that keep them out.

This season, we welcome Olympic champion @paulaleiton to @__almaslibres.

Paris 2024 @olympics Champion, Tokyo 2020 Olympic Silver Medallist. Elite athlete, speaker and advocate for resilience and body inclusion. Paula began her professional waterpolo career at just 15. Today, her impact reaches far beyond the pool. Drawing on her experience at the highest level of sport, and her own journey challenging expectations around body image, strength and success. Paula speaks openly about leadership, resilience, teamwork and taking up space without apology.

Paula will join 10 women, including @jesbonet_run4you, @maria.teixidor and others around one table for an intimate 3-course lunch bringing together leaders, founders and changemakers from sport, business, social impact and technology.

No stage.
No panel.
No permission needed.

Just an open conversation between women with something to say, and something to learn from one another.

This season, we’re stepping it up a notch. Guilty as charged. And you bet, we’re just getting warmed up.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been just over a week since @__almaslibres hosted our last Conversations for the Curious, a room full of women founders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who aren’t waiting for a seat at the table, they’re building new ones.

If there was one takeaway from the evening, it was this: leadership isn't about having it all together. Some days we're superwoman, and other days we're Bridget Jones. Both are part of the journey.

Conversations @ Borneta

Some conversations stay with you long after the room is empty.

Last night, @__almaslibres hosted another @conversationsforthecurious, this time for our Women Leading the Way: Pride Edition.

Together, we explored leadership, vulnerability, representation, and what Pride really means. We spoke about the importance of role models, challenged the labels placed on women from an early age, and reflected on how we take care of ourselves along the journey, because none of us can be a superwoman every day.

One thought that especially stayed with us: we’re all chipping away at the rock from wherever we stand. We win by standing, for ourselves, for one another, and for what we believe in.

Some of the most meaningful conversations we’ve shared in recent years have started with nothing more than a room, a question, and women willing to show up as themselves, and for one another.

This Thursday, July 2nd, join @__almaslibres at @hotelborneta for another edition of Conversations for the Curious, bringing together women founders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who are creating the spaces where we gather and building the communities that move us forward.

No superficiality.

We’re honored to welcome @carlavalld to our panel, 𝚆𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗 𝙻𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚊𝚢.

A lawyer and criminologist specialising in criminal law and gender-based violence, Carla has dedicated more than a decade to advancing feminist justice through legal practice, education, and institutional change. She has trained professionals across Spain, advised public institutions at the national, regional, and local levels, and since 2022 has coordinated the Department Against Abuse at the Catalan Film Academy.

In 2022, she was awarded the Meninas Award in the Feminist Justice category by @igualdadgob recognising her outstanding contribution to advancing gender justice.

Almas Libres x Rita Arnaus

We don’t always see what it takes to be a pro athlete until we hear the stories behind it.

Over the past year, we’ve spoken with @garazisanchez, @letscanales, and recently @ritaarnaus, about her journey, the setbacks, and the resilience it takes to stay at the top.

As the World Cup starts this week, we’re reminded of some of the women who paved the way for women in sport. From @alexiaputellas to the US Women’s National Team, who, before standing up and making their voices heard, generated more revenue than the men’s team, yet were still paid less per match before their equal pay agreement.

Change is already here, but it’s a collective effort to keep pushing it forward.

Let’s keep amplifying women in sport. Visibility and representation changes opportunity.

Last Sunday, more than 60 women showed up, stepped onto their boards, on land and in the ocean, and reminded us just how powerful community can be with @__almaslibres.
