This season, we welcome Olympic champion @paulaleiton to @__almaslibres.

Today, her impact reaches far beyond the pool. Drawing on her experience at the highest level of sport, and her own journey challenging expectations around body image, strength and success. Paula speaks openly about leadership, resilience, teamwork and taking up space without apology.

Paula will join 10 women, including @jesbonet_run4you, @maria.teixidor and others around one table for an intimate 3-course lunch bringing together leaders, founders and changemakers from sport, business, social impact and technology.

No permission needed.

Just an open conversation between women with something to say, and something to learn from one another.

This season, we’re stepping it up a notch. Guilty as charged. And you bet, we’re just getting warmed up.

Conversations @ Borneta

Tonight, 19:30, at Borneta, Barcelona @__almaslibres gather for our next Conversations for the Curious, where women founders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers come together under one roof.

Alongside our panel, we’ll be joined by Caroline de Oliveira Pereira (@carol.dop). Born in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, Caroline infuses her sets with the vibrant percussion rhythms of her roots, blending Afro and tech house into an atmosphere of pure energy.

For me, being part of Almas Libres means being inspired by women who lead with passion, simply by doing what they love and sharing it with others. Thank you @__almaslibres for creating such a safe and inclusive space for women in Barcelona to come together.

Sometimes the best conversations start with a room full of curious people. Join us, tonight.

Conversations @ Borneta

Some of the most meaningful conversations we’ve shared in recent years have started with nothing more than a room, a question, and women willing to show up as themselves, and for one another.

This Thursday, July 2nd, join @__almaslibres at @hotelborneta for another edition of Conversations for the Curious, bringing together women founders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who are creating the spaces where we gather and building the communities that move us forward.

One of the voices we’re especially excited to welcome is @lauraencinaoficial.

We first met Laura last year at @forbes_es and were immediately drawn to her warmth, generosity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Her work goes far beyond financial education, it’s about helping people build the confidence, tools, and mindset to create lives with greater freedom, choice, and purpose.

Laura Encina is an expert in financial planning and wealth building, with more than 16 years of experience helping people transform their relationship with money.

She has helped thousands of people optimise their finances and build lasting financial freedom by combining strategic planning with the right mindset.

Founder of Mujer al Mando, a movement empowering women to take control of their financial lives. Most recently, she founded @orba.app, the first app designed to help people look at their bank account without fear, raising €300,000 in just three days to bring the vision to life.

We’re excited to welcome Laura to Barcelona and to our new conversation. Last tickets remaining, don’t miss out!

There’s something meditative about watching skaters. I’ve spent more hours than I’d like to admit at skate parks — not skating, just watching.

Last Thursday I finally got on the board properly, with Almas Libres — a women’s group in Barcelona dedicated to empowering women through sport. Eight of us, all kitted out, bold and ready.

My teacher looked at me mid-class and said: “Go over there and skate that out of you.” She meant the fear.
She was right.

As we packed up, a skater nearby offered this: “Just because your teacher says class is over, it doesn’t mean you stop.”

Skating is an art form. It takes practice. I think I’ve been studying it for years from the sidelines — now the practice begins. 🛹

Almas Libres — free spirits. Come break down some barriers.

Conversations @ Borneta

What happens when the women working behind the scenes, building communities through sport, culture, law, and technology, come together in one room?

On July 2nd,@__almaslibres celebrate and hear from the women doing the work.

No superficiality.
No filters.
Just women creating real impact.

We’re honored to welcome @carlavalld to our panel, 𝚆𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗 𝙻𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚊𝚢.

A lawyer and criminologist specialising in criminal law and gender-based violence, Carla has dedicated more than a decade to advancing feminist justice through legal practice, education, and institutional change. She has trained professionals across Spain, advised public institutions at the national, regional, and local levels, and since 2022 has coordinated the Department Against Abuse at the Catalan Film Academy.

In 2022, she was awarded the Meninas Award in the Feminist Justice category by @igualdadgob recognising her outstanding contribution to advancing gender justice.

Join us at @hotelborneta from 19:30 for an evening of honest conversation, shared perspectives, and the people shaping the future of our communities.

Conversations @ Borneta

For the past three years, @__almaslibres has been creating space for women and amplifying their voices. During Pride Month, this commitment feels even more important, and this year is no different as we host our next @conversationsforthecurious with a powerhouse line-up.

First up is @paulagaila, Founder of @wowmymusic, an audio branding agency that specialises in designing sonic experiences to help brands connect with people in more authentic and emotionally engaging ways.

Born in Málaga and based in Barcelona since 2003, Paula has spent more than a decade developing customer experience-driven marketing strategies for international brands. In 2018, she embarked on a new professional journey, combining two of her greatest passions, marketing and music, to found WOW.

Alongside leading her own company, Paula has also shared her expertise as a Digital Marketing Mentor at @upfbarcelona.

We cannot wait to welcome Paula to the panel 𝚆𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗 𝙻𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚊𝚢 with Arantxa Calvera, Carla Vall and Laura Encira at @hotelborneta on July 2nd from 19:30. Her story is a celebration of authenticity, creativity, and the power of being seen and heard, values that resonate deeply with both Pride and Almas Libres community.

Almas Libres x Rita Arnaus

We don’t always see what it takes to be a pro athlete until we hear the stories behind it.

Over the past year, we’ve spoken with @garazisanchez, @letscanales, and recently @ritaarnaus, about her journey, the setbacks, and the resilience it takes to stay at the top.

As the World Cup starts this week, we’re reminded of some of the women who paved the way for women in sport. From @alexiaputellas to the US Women’s National Team, who, before standing up and making their voices heard, generated more revenue than the men’s team, yet were still paid less per match before their equal pay agreement.

Change is already here, but it’s a collective effort to keep pushing it forward.

Let’s keep amplifying women in sport. Visibility and representation changes opportunity.

Announcement

This Sunday, May 31st 19:00-19:45 as part of our three-year anniversary we’re excited to welcome @ritaarnaus for a conversation on sport, leadership, and community.

A professional freestyle kitesurfer, sponsored by @duotone.kiteboarding and @ion_international, Rita has spent her career pushing boundaries at the highest level of competition, becoming Spanish Champion and 3x Vice World Champion.

Recognised as a High-Performance Athlete by the @deportegob and the @oficial_rfev she went on to compete on the World Tour, finishing among the World’s Top 5 athletes.

As a member of @brunotti Europe’s International Team and later an official @porsche Athlete, Rita has become a recognised figure both within and beyond the world of sport.

Today, she combines elite performance with a strong commitment to empowering women, using her platform to inspire the next generation to pursue ambitious goals and challenge limitations.

Together, we’ll explore her journey, the lessons learned through competition, and why communities like @__almaslibres are essential for creating more opportunities for women in sport and increasing representation in leadership.

🎙️The conversation will be moderated by @mariaseguimaso, federated basketball player, human rights activist, and Almas Libres basketball coach.

We’ll be waiting for you @seayoubarcelona
