Emelina just became the world’s first Cuban restaurant ever to earn a Michelin Star, and the first Michelin-Starred restaurant in The Palm Beaches.

The 16-seat tasting-menu restaurant in West Palm Beach’s historic Flamingo Park District, led by husband-and-wife chefs Osmel González and Camila Salazar, has just earned Michelin-Star status today at the 2026 Michelin Guide Florida ceremony — becoming the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Palm Beach County.

The recognition arrives less than four months after the restaurant’s February debut, with a menu that doesn’t reproduce familiar Cuban dishes but speculates, asking what Cuban food might have become with freedom, global exchange, and modern technique.

Florida’s dining scene just reached a new milestone, with West Palm Beach’s @emelina_wpb earning its first @michelinguide Star in the guide’s inaugural statewide Florida selection.

Leading this year’s standout additions, @apmrestaurantgroup’s Emelina was recognized for its inventive take on Cuban cuisine under chefs @__osmel__ and @camila.salazar.gomez. The intimate 16-seat counter restaurant impressed MICHELIN inspectors with its refined yet deeply personal approach, blending South Florida ingredients with global influences. Signature dishes like Sebastian Silver oysters with yucca foam, dry-aged Florida beef with green mango mojo, and a reimagined rabo encendido showcase the restaurant’s bold creativity and technical precision.

The 2026 MICHELIN Guide Florida now spans the entire state for the first time, featuring 200 restaurants across 41 cuisine types. Miami’s Mutra also earned its first MICHELIN Star, while Tampa’s Fat Beet Farm Kitchen and Bakery received a Green Star for its commitment to sustainable gastronomy.

Cuban cuisine gets a refined, forward-thinking reintroduction in West Palm Beach with the debut of @emelina_wpb, @apmrestaurantgroup’s first non-Japanese concept in South Florida.

For APM Restaurant Group Founder @alvaro_perez_miranda, the project had long been in the making. “I have always wanted to open a non-Japanese concept here,” he shares, describing Emelina as “a considered take on Cuban cuisine for an audience eager for new stories.” Rather than chasing trends, he envisioned “a singular, well-crafted experience that adds to Florida’s culinary landscape.”

Led by partners @__osmel__ and Camila—whose résumés include some of the world’s most celebrated kitchens—Emelina honors Cuban culinary heritage while pushing it beyond familiar expectations. “Guests should not come expecting to eat Cuban cuisine the way they know it,” Perez Miranda notes, emphasizing the team’s use of global techniques to reinterpret tropical Cuban flavors.

The 16-seat tasting counter format underscores that intention. “An intimate, 16-seat tasting menu lets guests experience the concept as a cohesive, immersive story,” he explains, turning dinner into an exploration shaped by proximity to the kitchen and attentive yet discreet service. Signature dishes like the Minuta—tempura golden tilefish with refried tomato, fried egg emulsion, and caviar—and spiny lobster with Homestead guava signal the restaurant’s layered approach.

With contemporary Latin artwork curated by Perez Miranda’s Black Ship Gallery and a hospitality style designed to feel “warm” and “inviting,” Emelina aims to deliver not just a meal, but an emotional connection—one that expands the dining language of West Palm Beach while remaining deeply rooted in culture.
