Please join us for The Songs We Carry, a folk-song workshop with Babak

Sat 22nd August, 10.30am - 12.30pm
£15, including tea, coffee + cake

Babak Mirsalari and Ali Abedzadeh grew up in Ahwaz, in southwestern Iran, in the shadow of the Zagros Mountains. They begin the workshop by sharing songs from that home and then invite participants to join in and sing them together.

If there is a song that is meaningful to you, bring it with you to share and teach the chorus to the group. Every tradition and language is welcome. No musical experience necessary.

This collaboration with the lovely @__palfer__ is our take on a Bakhtiari Iranian folk song, about love and unity, encouraging people to stand together during difficult times, no matter what. Felt like the right song for today. Recorded live at the resonant @wainsgatechapel in our spring event. 🎥 @jh.wh by @__palfer__
