People ask me all the time what I eat as a plant-based baddie and I tend to immediately have two prominent thoughts:

1. Whatever I want that’s not meat or dairy.
2. A lot.

Volume eating is not for the faint of heart. Especially if you can’t handle people continuously commenting on how much you’re eating lol It takes a good amount of prep and planning and sometimes I literally just throw some fruits and veggies on a plate with a side of nuts and seeds and call it a day. If I have time and patience I might throw them on a pan and roast them. Other times, I go to vegan restaurants and order 2 entrees and multiple sides. I love it. Mostly because I used to have acid reflux and I don’t anymore. I used to have wayyy more gas and now I’d say it’s a normal amount lol I also used to be about 75 pounds heavier and now I don’t breathe hard getting out of the shower. I still eat meat every now and again. In fact, I had the most amazing prime rib just the other day. And there’s the occasional sliver of traditional cake or pastry or bread and butter, but since they normally give me a headache and a hurt tummy, they no longer make up the majority of my diet. I say eat what makes you feel good and everything pictured here is 100% made from plants and 1000% makes me smile every time I think about them. Sharing some of these foods here so I have a go-to carousel for the curious. by @__shalili

I’ve been keeping to myself a lot lately. But it doesn’t feel like how it used to. This time I feel like I’m being punished. I’ve been reluctant to take the time out to feel and think and get introspective and love on myself. I’ve never felt like I didn’t wanna be alone. Until now. And it’s been weird. And oddly lonely. A little heartbreaking. But so very much needed ✨

I’ve been leaning on my faith a lot. Praying heavy. Meditating my mornings into oblivion sometimes. I’ve been spending long moments in the sun, walking barefoot in the backyard, singing my favorite songs uninterrupted for hours and moving my body until it feels better 🧘🏾‍♀️

I’m learning how to be free in this gift of stillness I’ve been given. I’ve been giving myself grace in the instances where I feel like I f***ed up my life. And being overwhelmingly grateful and appreciative for all the things I know I got right 🙌🏾

I’m being calm in the storm and patiently waiting for my brain to realize my blessings. I’m not doubting. I’m not dead. I’m believing in greater. And grounded in love ❤️ by @__shalili
