FLOOR ROOF (2026)
In collaboration with @_jiyoch

This performance-installation circles around the idea of car(ry)ing a house, not as a fixed place, but as something assembled through movements, materials, habits, and the quiet work of holding one another. A practice of ‘homemaking’ and ‘bodystorming’, guided by the question of how we come home to ourselves.

Our work took shape in May during the opening performance of the exhibition ‘Wayward Sanctuaries’, remains on view throughout July and early August, and will be packed up during the closing performance at the finissage on 09/08.

Made out of aluminium, wood and paint. Each sun has a diameter of 1.2 m

Laatste weekend!
'FLOOR ROOF' van @_jiyoch en @__twie is een performance en installatie over wat een thuis betekent. Het werk onderzoekt hoe je zorg draagt voor je thuis en hoe je dat met je meedraagt wanneer je verhuist.

Tijdens de opening droegen de kunstenaars het huis naar binnen en pakten ze het uit als onderdeel van de installatie.

Wayward Sanctuaries is een tentoonstelling met @theconstantnow en @brakkegrond Nog tot 9 augustus bij Kunsthal Mechelen!

Dit was “Staging stand-ins // Talking roots” van Ian Skirvin en Thủy Lê Thi Thu.
Een performance of een geënsceneerde filmset, gecentreerd rond een boom die zijn bladeren heeft verloren. Dit werk speelt zich af in de winter en nodigt het publiek uit om buiten te blijven.

Between bodies, names and spaces: Thuy Lê Thi Thu on Alicja Kwade

In this video, artist Thuy Lê Thi Thu reflects on identity, perception and disorientation. Shaped by a body and a culture that come from different places, her work moves between performance and installation, exploring how we experience space and ourselves.

In Alicja Kwade’s work, Thuy is drawn to both the spatial play and the sense of disorientation she creates. She’s fascinated by how a virtuoso, almost scientific treatment of materials is beautifully balanced with banal, playful discoveries throughout the exhibition.

Alicja Kwade - Dusty Die runs at M Leuven until 22.02.2026. The exhibition is free for Different Class members.

Terugblikkend op de speciale ervaring die we hadden op het Gula Gula Festival in Vilvoorde eind vorige zomer, waar ik was uitgenodigd door @ansoloco en @anitaspl.

Een eerste try-out met CAR(RY)ING SPACE, een rondtrekkende performance en verkenning waarin ’(s)care’ in dialoog treedt met drager en gedragene, het lichaam en zijn omgeving.
 Samen met het beste car(ry)ing team: @romane.berle @margauxvanbxl @gabalesev @ferre.erref @rubendevoille @nah.tuur.lig.
 Dank je @gulagulafestival voor het creëren van deze speciale en intieme ruimte.

Looking back on the lovely experience we had at Gula Gula Festival in Vilvoorde at the end of last summer, where I was invited by @ansoloco and @anitaspl.

We had a first try-out with CAR(RY)ING SPACE, an itinerant performance and exploration in which (s)care enters into dialogue with carrier and carried, the body and its surroundings.

Together with the best car(ry)ing team: @romane.berle @margauxvanbxl @gabalesev @ferre.erref @rubendevoille @nah.tuur.lig.

Thank you @gulagulafestival for creating this special and intimate space.
