First Pro Solo Race✅😁

Initial Post Race thoughts:
- Good god that was tough
- I’ve so much to improve on
- I’d never do that again

Reflection:
- I’m so proud of myself for this achievement
- The hours training put in in the background paid off
- I will be doing that again

One of the most common mistakes we see is increasing training volume faster than your body can adapt.

Your fitness can improve quickly, but tendons take time to build capacity.

Achilles pain isn’t always about damage — it’s often a sign that the load has exceeded what your tissues were prepared for.

The goal isn’t to stop training. It’s to build resilience through smart progression, strength work, and gradual exposure to load with plyometric training.

Progress smartly, stay consistent and your tendons will thank you 🤝

Come 🪑⛷️ with me

As a lot of you are aware, I am a coach in @bikerowski & @performancetherapyireland. I’ve been working with and using the ergs in BRS since 2018, so I’d like to think I have a pretty good relationship with them - then I break my ankle and over the last 6 weeks it’s been only seated ski 🙂

It has taught me a lot about the movement itself (and tested my patience). Ski is a hip-drive movement, so when you’re seated, you obviously lose that hip drive, so the focus becomes even more about core engagement and lat connection.

Since running, and using the Concept 2 Bike & Row aren’t an option right now (but soon), seated skiing has been a great way to keep some sort of an aerobic base without putting pressure on my ankle. It’s a very humbling experience to say the least, but I’m grateful nonetheless🤍

@performancetherapyireland & @bikerowski aren’t just classes & a gym - they’re a feeling, a community, a place where I am grateful to meet, coach, laugh with & bond with an amazing bunch of individuals. It’s a place I call home, with people I get the privilege to call my family.

Dave, you were so loved by us all.
Thank you for being a Grandad to me.
Thank you for being a Dad to my Mam.
And thank you for giving my Nanny a second chance at an amazing life that you both lived and cherished together.
