my morning brain stack 🧠🧩

i’ve been making a conscious effort recently to train my brain in a morning before reaching for my phone and this is my current line up! i’ve been a sudoku girlie since i was about 12 years old however it wasn’t cool back then to tell people about it but now i’ll shout it from the rooftops that hot girls train their brains🙂‍↕️

i usually complete a sudoku puzzle, a murdoku puzzle and a couple of murdle puzzles in a morning and these all help improve my focus, logical thinking and problem solving! 🧠 and this really helps me avoid rotting my brain by doomscrolling on social media as well. i also try and do a puzzle or two on an evening if im not reading 🤓

time for my quarter 3 check in🤍 let’s see what were my favourite books in quarter 3 and books i’m hoping to read in quarter 4 🥹

quarter 3 gave me so many good books!!! rereading the hunger games before reading SOTR was a choice 🥲 that film is gonna kill me.

started and finished some incredible series that had been on my tbr for the longest time!!

some of these have been recommended as my 26 books to read in 2026 and others i’ve seen some of my besties rave about so i’m getting fomo 🤭 i hope i can get to all of these before the end of the year!! taken in BOOKSTA by @_abbiereads

happy friday angels! i don’t know about you but this week has felt LONG. so happy it’s the weekend. here’s a little reading update 🤍

somehow i currently have 3 books on the go 🙈

🦋innamorata:
this book has been absolutely consuming me this week. it’s gruesome, disturbing but so atmospheric. i am loving ava reid’s writing. the yearning in this as well? chefs kiss.

🐍dark age:
i was dreading starting this one and rightly so. i balled my eyes out in the first 5%. this book is DARK its BLEAK. there genuinely hasn’t been a single ounce of happiness in this book and i have to keep regularly pausing it because im so scared what could happen to these characters because pierce does not care 😃🔫

🌌the ascended:
buddy reading this one with my angel @literary.crystal and this started off so strong but ive actually been finding it difficult to keep picking this one up. the mmc isnt giving much sadly and the trials feel very similar to the hunger games and the goblet of fire which bores me. however, i loveee thatcher and i look forward to every single one of his povs 🙂‍↕️

i have a chilled weekend this weekend so i actually aim to get all of these finished so i can start next week with something new! probably lightbringer tbf given that the ending of dark age will probs make me want to die 🥲

my bookshelf has had yet another refresh and i’m really happy with this new set up🤭

my zodiac academy collection is nearly complete and i cannot wait for the SE of the ballad of falling dragons to be in my hands in november to put her right next to wtmh😍

so many more books to add to my collection though so i guess i need to go buy myself another bookshelf😇😇 by @_abbiereads

happy friday angels! do any of you have any nice plans this weekend? i plan to get iron gold finished but im nervous to start dark age ngl.

ad | so happy i have a blind in here now cause of how much afternoon sun we get! i can’t believe how sunny it still is for october i love it 🥹

happy 1st october besties! somehow it’s blue skies, sunshine and 20 degrees here which is insane for october in the uk but i’m not complaining 🤭

i finally started the second arc of the red rising series and im nearly 40% into iron gold. i don’t know how to describe it but coming back to this series and being reunited with these characters again feels like coming back home 🤍 im loving the multi pov in this book and getting introduced to new characters! i will always be a darrow defender and it pains me that this man has never been free and has been thrown into something that he never wanted. let him live in peace ffs 😔

september diaries 🍁🍂🕯️

god another month nearly over 😅 mornings and evenings are getting darker here in the uk so trying to make the best of it 🥹 the majority of the month has been spent at home but i’m not mad about it

i haven’t set an october tbr as i feel it puts too much pressure on myself to read everything so just going to read what i want when i want, especially when im making more of a conscious effort to do other hobbies than just read 🥰

hope you’ve all had a lovely september 🤎

my favourite book of the month was either revels on an angel’s grave or to flame a wild flower…i’m not sure if i can choose 🙈

so happy strictly come dancing is back on tv!!! my fave thing to watch on a saturday night 🤭

colouring dates with @literary.crystal are becoming a regular thing and i love that we can just yap away about anything and everything 🤍

loving colouring so much atm 🥰🥰

if my books don’t make me sob my little heart out i don’t want it ✋🏼 honestly if you ever tell me to be prepared for a book because it’s painful, you won’t catch me putting it off, i’ll be moving that book straight to the top of my tbr 🙂‍↕️

currently reading 📖

sometimes you don’t get an arc finished before release day and that’s okay 🙈 hunt the dragons released yesterday and i was very lucky to receive an early copy but unfortunately life has been life-ing and i was also so consumed by the crystal bloom series that i just haven’t given this book the attention it deserves until now!

however im currently 20% in and really enjoying it so far!
the ending of book 1 had me absolutely gagged so i’ve been dying to start this!!

revels on an angel’s grave arc review 🪽✨💜

nicole’s writing is BEAUTIFUL and so descriptive. i’m in awe of how her brain works because the world building and lore is so detailed and intricate.

my heart broke for roremar for the majority of this book. his internal struggle with guilt and grief was written so well i felt like i was going through it with him. but also the YEARNING from this man? are you KIDDING. this man’s desperation and longing had me WEAK.

emmeline truly found her voice in this book and i love that so much for her. she really said f you all i’m fighting for myself and for my man!!!

emmeline and roremar have become one of my favourite couples🫶🏻

i loved the found family element in this book and loved the introduction of new characters. des and lols: i need more of them 🥹🤍

i’m REALLY excited to see where nicole takes us next. she says buckle up so let’s go, i’m strapped in 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

ad i don’t think i’ll ever get over how cosy this roman blind from @threegirlsblinds_ makes this room!

colouring is one of my favourite hobbies to stop me doomscrolling, especially whilst listening to an audiobook and i’m trying to make more time to do it!

still unsure what to do with this empty space above my desk, maybe shelves or a notice board that i can put art prints etc on?! let me know what you think 🥹 by @_abbiereads
